Hey Ladies!
I wanted to share my discovery because it has changed/saved my (hair) life!
My discovery is this: Apparently my hair (and maybe yours too) doesn't need to be very wet in order to "set." In fact, I discovered if I "set" my hair when it's barely damp...90 to 95% dry, and if I twist the hair tightly and securely, that It will set into curls, crimps, or waves in 20 to 30 minutes flat. This is my go to save-my-butt look for parties, work, etc. when I have NO time to do my hair but I still need to look super glamorous.
This is my hair at the start: A few inches past SL, and fairly healthy:

The leave-in in I use is Protectiv BreakFree with Healthy End (on the ends), but I've used various Leave In with this and really anyone will do. Just go for something creamier, so the hair dries more evenly.
I do basic Four Section/Square part (like the kind you'd do for putting on a relaxer), tightly bantu knot each piece and put the knots up high so I get the volume. Voila!

*You can't see in this pic, but there are two more knots in the back.
If I'm in a rush and the knots are still TOO damp to take down I "cheat" this set, and take the knots down early but leave the hair in four thick "chunks". I do this to check the "wave" of the hair, (I take the knots out before they completely dry because otherwise the look will be too crimped and lack volume, so I wouldn't recommend sleeping on these) and help the hair dry faster. I don't touch these "tentacles" either (that's what they look like! Haha) until the hair feels solid enough to work with and then slowly divide them and separate them till they dry.

Separate, separate, fluff, and blend those parts together!
This is the result!
Forgive the cheesiness of these last pics. I was joking around on my computer, but these show the hair the best!
From the moment I step out of the shower I can accomplish this look in 1 to 1.5 hours depending on how long I hang dry my hair. If I'm in a rush I'll blow dry my hair to 95% dry, and this look takes 40 minutes! Hope this works out for other people besides me!
