I used to hate the thought of cutting my hair but since I started my journey last month I've been obsessing over my growth and splits.

I started trimming splits and everything was good and soft but now having trouble telling the difference between crinkled ends (due to scarf sliding) and splits.

I just dont want anything hurting my growth but I think my frequent use of scissors is doin that too. I realized I needed to stop trimming after what I did to myself 5 mins ago.

So im vowing to hide my scissors for 2 months and just baby my ends.

Before I joined LHCF I would always cut my hair even all over to avoid split ends hoping that this would help my hair grow. However I did'nt realize that I was cutting away all my progress. Now I am the opposite I probably don't cut my ends enough so I am working to try and find a happy medium.

I hope your plan works out for you :yep:

I was the same way until about a month ago when I sat and cut SSKs for about 4hrs I was so upset with myself I threw out my scissors and made a vow to avoid SSKs and splits as much as possible. Im so happy now because I made slight changes to my reggie and I can honestly say that those things that caused me to need trims before are no longer a problem for me:)

The thing is the splits come from nowhere!! I just had it trimmed in a salon last week and I m&s everyday I increased to 2x a day after I saw the first split. Its not something im doin its just there.

I have no problems with the left and back of my hair just my right. Im so frustrated right now my only option is to leave the scissors alone and hope for the best.

Are they actual splits or just frizzy ends? Split ends usually cause tangling at the ends or breakage (short pieces that are obviously shorter than the length of your hair).A split also has an actual "fork in the strand and at your length probably couldn't be seen with the naked eye so put those scissors away and just find a good trimming schedule :spank: I have the frizziest ends ever and because of that either self trim or only let my sister do it because I refuse to cut away my progress for something the right styling product/dc can fix.

Well it might be frizzy ends :/ still I m&s and it dries crunchy while the rest my hair is soft and smooth.

It doesnt hold moisture and it wont go straight. I even tried flat ironing just the crunchy part. I co-washed yesterday left the conditioner on for an hour before rinsing. Still nothing works.

What dc are you using? Oddly enough when my hair won't hold moisture it needs protein not more moisture.

Girl, this is my biggest goal for the summer, not to cut my hair. I get frustrated by SSKs, but I need to just keep my hair pinned up to keep them at bay and hide the scissors!!!

My experience with products composed of mineral oil hasn't been so good. It wasn't until I started avoiding mineral oil, that my hair began to thrive. Mineral oil would make my hair crunchy, dry, and brittle; didn't realize that until I stopped using it. I'm not implying that you should stop using this product because it may not be the source of your issue - just throwing in my two cents! Good luck!

Hmmm what kinda moisturizer are you using and what are the ingredients?

The frizzyness or splits is only on one side

Did you examine a strand after cutting? Is it actually split or just frizzy?

Ugh I dusted my ends im ashamed but the frizzy went away and I didnt do a length check but the curly mess on the back of my neck straightened out. I couldnt get it straight with a relaxer or my steam straightener so that means its growing yay!!!
