I just purchased this a few minutes ago for about $14 online (shipping included) and wanted to know what you ladies thought of it and what was your experience with it?

Maybe i should of asked this before i purchased it :look: i think i was too excited to save $5 :perplexed

I have very picky hair. It thought it was ok. It liked it better mixed with AVG. But it was not a repurchase.

Did you get a really large bottle? $14 is a lot. I thought it was less than $10 at Target.

@faithVA i bought a liter online .... hopefully my hair likes it otherwise imma have problems lol

Ok, then you got a great deal. Hopefully if works for you.

If not you can always try modifying it, adding some things to it to see if it makes it better.

Lol i love it because it really smoothes my hair but i'm not happy that they changed the ingredients to be more mass market/commercial. it still works but i prefer the idea of the old formula

I loved it at first but my hair didn't after awhile. It didn't absorb into my hair so it just sat on top of it and after a few days I just had white build up on my hair :(

It was just ok and sometimes it didn't work on my hair. I love Giovanni 50:50 conditioner as a leave in, it has the same consistency and smoothing properties and the moisture I need.

This product felt cheap in my hair and did nothing but just sit there. Thankfully I was able to return. It seems to work for so many, makes me want to give it another try.

Direct Leave In is always in my stash and has been a staple for years. Over the past several months I find my hair responds really well to ShidaNaturals Moisturizing Cream / Detangler but GDLI is always around.

I've had Giovanni Direct Leave In as a part of my hair care product stash for years, and I still love it. I also purchase mine by the liter. Good stuff.

I love, and USE, Giovanni Direct Leave In regularly. My favorite ways to use it is (1) while hair is still damp, after detangling, I apply generously and seal, then bun up. Keeps my hair soft and moist for days. (2) at night for my whole head baggying. I apply, then braid/twist hair, put on shower cap, tie with silk scarf. In the am, my hair needs nothing but some coconut oil to seal in the goodness.

This is good stuff. Don't worry about not being able to offload this if your hair doesnt like it.:yep:

Great for detangling wet hair. I haven't used it since last winter. I liked to do wet twist outs/braid outs because it has a soft hold as well.

I love this this stuff, in fact, I love All Giovanni products. In especially love the direct leave-in for my 9 year old DD's hair.

For me, it works better on my hair dry. When I add it to my hair as a leave in after I shampooed my hair. It make it very hard. However when I used if, as a daily leave in on dry hair. I reap the benefits and my hair is soft.

Thank you ladies for your input ....im going to have to experiment with the product wet hair dry hair baggying etc

I used it a few times, but stopped using it because I need for my leave in products to assist with detangling and this product did nothing to help detangle my hair. It did smell nice and was not greasy. The ingrediants and price are both great.

i have the liter also...i think i paid like $12...it will last forever lol...its ok...i remember buying the smaller bottles a couple years ago, and it being just ok, but i bought the big bottle after watching haircrush use it, and decided to give it another go...i actually like this alot on wet hair...then my hair dries shiny and moist...applying it on dry hair it doesnt seem to be that moisturizing, and can be dulling.

This is very moisturizing, don't get me wrong and Chime (haircrush on youtube) put me on to it. However, when I do twistouts and braidouts with this they flake and look like there's dandruff all on my shoulders! So I don't reach for it much. Will try it in ways that others have described, though.

Are you ladies using the new formulated Giovanni products...Direct Leave-In, 50/50, SAS? Have you noticed any differences?

I swore they changed their formula over the past year or so. It felt waxy in the past but now it has more of the feel and texture my hair prefers. You got a great deal, OP!
