Come on, CON......I thought were wer better than that.

So, I have again become a victim of CON balsm (sp?) residue. It's such a catch 22 ya'll because it conditions so well, yet, in the end you can't do anything w/ that utra-condtioned hair. Also, this time Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo isn't helping.

I asked the advice of a random lady in the store and she suggested "anti-residue shampoo by Neutragena" I haven't used it yet (just left store by my school), even though I'm tempted to go home now and do so.

In addition, I got some VO5 clarifying lime shampoo.

ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS?

I use Pantene Clarifying and it works really well for me (I'm also a CON fan, so when I get that buildup, the Pantene does the job

).

btw, the bodifying shampoo even washes away relaxer resiude, so i think it should be good at clarifying

I use Suave clarifying shampoo. What does this "residue" look like? I use CON but I've never noticed a build-up.

A good ol' apple cider vinegar rinse or a rinse with baking soda and distilled water usually does the trick for me.

This is what I use to. Just a dime size amount gets rid of all the buildup for me

Same here! I have yet to find a better clarifying shampoo and believe me I've just about tried them all. A close second is a brand sold in Sally's called, Beyond the Zone ( I think that's the name). It's has a green color.

I just started clarifying for the first time. I just did my first apple cider vinegar rinse this past weekend...and it left my scalp squeaky clean.

Elucence Moisturizing Acidifier is a great for clarifying. It's actually a neutralizer, but I use it for clarifying also. It leaves my hair feeling very clean yet not stripped. And my conditior works wonders after using it.

I always use CON. Yes the basalm can be a problem. What I do is use 2 shampoos. The first shampoo is moisturising, but strong enough to leave the hair clean and get rid of the residue. I follow up with CON as it leaves my hair very soft to comb through before apply the conditioner. My #1 shampoos (before I use the CON) usual are, Elasta Bodyfying, Elasta Shampoo for relaxed hair, L'oreal Elvive, Motion Lavish conditioning. The Bodyfying I don't use that often as I find it really gets rid of everything on my hair and can leave it feeling too stripped.

I can't really see the build-up, but I can always feel it. It feels rough, like my hair is coated with something. Plus, my products just won't work when there's too much build up.

So what does this build-up look like?

LOL...I keep reading this. Well, it isn't necessarily visible, but oh can you feel it. Your hair just feels kind of gooey and oily even after washing and it just doesn't do what you're used to your hair doing.

I can really notice it because my hair is natural, so when I get a bunch of build-up, my hair won't curl up like I'm used to. I'm actually starting to wonder if it has to do w/ trying to straighten my hair w/ heat

My hair hasn't been right for a couple of weeks now.....

So, I'm getting cornrolls!

it is me
