we have this line in germany/europe also (if we are talking about the same green bottles), i have tried it a couple of years ago and i could not tell you what i have tried but i was not overly impressed with it. but it wasn't bad either. i don't think their products are too expensive to give it a try. since you would like to try something new: what about herbal essences intensive blends for dry/damaged hair. that conditioner is great, they also have an intensive treatment from intensive blends and that stuff smells sooo goooood and it leaves your hair detangled too and soft/moisturized. i wish they would sell it here /images/graemlins/frown.gif.
nay

What kind of name is "Fructis" anyway?

They were 2 for $6 at Kroger and I couldn't resist. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I got the shampoo for a male friend of mine and the 3 minute masque for myself because they smell so darned good! I haven't used the masque yet...

dont get it. DONT get it. Its products are primarily silicone based and makes your hair like plastic. DONT!!!!!!!

I tried this the other day and liked it. (i love the smell too). I got the shampoo for colored/permed hair and the conditioner for dry/damaged hair. I hot oiled pre-shampoo as usual, then did emergencee because i relaxed on saturday, then applied the conditioner. my hair was nice and soft when I was done. I wouldn't say it's any better than Pantene or the suave professionals line. I'm keeping it in my rotation because it performs as expected and smells great. (kind of tropical melon-y)

Garnier Fructis is in Uk. I tried the hair colour and it ruined my hair (I was relaxed at the time). It became dry and broke off.

I haven't used anything else from Garnier.

I tried when I first registered with the board. I used it once during an attempt to air dry my hair with a single pony tail. Seemed okay. However now I use it in a leave-in concoction that I have made for my hair. I was finding that using either Infusium or 911 leave in's too heavy in my hair by themselves. So I mixed some Infusium, 911, some spray Curl activator, water and some of the Garnier Frutis in a spray bottle and use it for my wet sets and/or when I dry my hair usng the pony tail method. I like the concoction (hope I remember how to make it again). I find that it is not heavy on my hair and helps with my comb out. I alternate weekly with this concoction and with Pantene Light Leave in Spray Conditioner. /images/graemlins/lick.gif

Just updating my review.
I will keep the conditioner (but will mix it with oil to give it more slip---smooth n'sleek has me spoiled)
I am ditching the shampoo, it is too harsh. When I washed yesterday my water was blue--it was taking out some of my Hennalucent Gleaming Ebony

At least it won't go to waste--I plan to use it as bodywash per suggestions from the board (Nay007 I think.--thanks!

Can you please clarify? Do you mean that it makes your hair feel like plastic (too straight or too hard)? Are you talking about cones or the products themselves?

oh, my bad! Instinct, i guess.

Well, the first time i used the conditioner (i have been a noo pooer since the start of 2002) it was alright (please note my hair is unprocessed 4a), then, over time, its like my hair became stiff with the stuff. It did not curl, twist or anything. It was really hard. I clarified then tried LUSH's okra conditioner, and the difference was so clear. After that, i just threw it away. Even my causacion friends with 1a/b hair decided to give her fructis a toss. There are better products than these. I hear the garnier colours are not bad, and their skin stuff is OKAY (i think) but not brilliant.

HTH!

Fruit essences in French. Garnier Labs, in case you did not know, is a division of L'Oreal Paris. So they came up with the unusual French names, which would take a rocket scientist to figure out what it means.

Has anyone tried the Garnier Frutis hair care line. It was advertised in Honey magazine.

It's Fructis. I've got a sample of the shampoo and the conditioner in the daily newspaper a couple of weeks ago. Haven't tried it yet, but I will let you know soon.

Once upon a time I was going to use their dark brown hair color to cover up lightened hair; fortunately I did a strand test...the hair turned greenish brown and was fried!!
Although this was my isolated experience I would tell folks to run screaming from the hair color.

I used the new 3-minute masque, it was ok; almost too perfumy for me, basically the same performance as suave or herbal essences. I would get it again if it were at the dollar store, but thats about it.

It is horrible, I tried this about 2 years ago when it was introduced in Canada and I had a texturizer at the time. I had tried samples and it made my hair feel stripped and wiry.

Re: Garnier Frutis Hair line- Garnier Ultra Beauty

I tried the Fructis line when I was in the US and I hated it! It didn't detangle my hair at all and it made my hair crunchy and plasticy. Now Garnier does have a line called Ultra Beauty with Olive oil and Lemon for Dry dull hair. The shampo isn't bad and the conditioner (which I use as my CO) detangles nicely. The line also comes with its own deep conditioning treatment to which I mix more olive oil in and leave on for 20 minutes without heat. (package says to leave on for 3 minutes) For the price it's worth a try.
