If so, how often do you use it? Has it helped with shedding? I hate the way it terribly tangles my hair. Did you feel that it dried out your hair?

I used it the other day and my hair after the rollerset was sooo dry. Just curious about your experiences.

Thanks

P.S. I am using the non-scented one.

I use alopecil a dominican product. I am on low-poo right now so I only use it once a month since my shedding has stopped. I really gotta give props to Apretadora, the horrible green conditioner, it really works. Wish I had found it sooner! It will tint your hands green a bit but it rinses off.

I use oil rinses so I don't experience dryness. I poo, then put about a 2 quarter sized amounts of Amla to my hair, work it in, then lightly rinse, then condition. I have no dryness. (You could use any oil really). For my wash n go stying, I apply a leave-in and a TINY bit of castor/olive oil mix. I have normally dry hair so the oil really helps.

If you want to stop using the shampoo, think about trying Apretadora. It worked after 1 use. I was shedding so bad I would have a huge ball of hair coming out every day. My tub got clogged too! I got so scared, thought about crying. LOL. Then I read the reviews on roundbrushhair.com, but I get mine from ebay. So for maintenance I use Apretadora as my DC. No problems since.

Thanks ChocolateSoda, wow, it worked after just one use? I've heard woman on here speak of using garlic many times before getting the results they wanted.

I will try this product. I wonder if I can buy it at a store...ebay is charging a lot for shipping right now. But I will go there if I have no choice...I am getting desperate. I have been having shedding for a few months now. And it has only been getting worse. Now, my hair is breaking. I think the shampoo dried me out! Ok, I will try this, just as you suggested.

Thanks a lot.

(I am thinking about braiding my hair now. When I took my braids out in August 2007, I got my hair permed. And after my stylist switched me from Mizani to Affirm in October, I have been shedding ever since. And now I am experiencing quite a bit of breakage. I am not gonna have my hair break off again...lol. How can hair look healthy and still have breakage? It's not a lot, but I don't want any!)

I use it ONLY when I have a lot of shedding. My hair tends to shed 1-2 times/year, and I am talking massive shedding. It leaves my hair feeling very stripped and fragile. I always follow with a moisturizing conditioner, I'll leave it in for about 30-60 minutes. It definitely stops my shedding, but it can be harsh so I wouldn't use it very often.

Sorry you're having such a tough time.
Hang in there God'sDaughter!! :rosebud:

Yes Apretadora worked wonders for me. I could pull down the length of my hair and get 20 to 50 hairs at each pull. It was awful. I put Apretadora on my hair for 10 minutes w/baggy (I don't have a Pibbs) and afterwards I pulled on my hair I got 3 hairs. I did the conditioner again 2 days later and did the pull test and got 3 hairs. It really worked for me.

Read the reviews @ roundbrushhair.com

:phone:I have been telling everyone about this every chance I get 'cause I have never seen that much hair coming out of my head.

I don't have any dominican shops near me so I have to buy on-line. Maybe sickbay has it.

Oh, so I can buy it at a Dominican salon? Cause I have one across the street from me, and one down the block.

I think I have the same amount of shedding. I have never had this much shedding before. I am wondering what I did wrong, or what my stylist might have done. Or, is this just a natural thing. Everytime my hair would grow long, it would always fall out. And I made a promise to myself, that this will not happen again. I know a lot more now about hair, than ever before. But I am still learning.

Thanks for all your advice and information. You're the best ChocolateSoda, and you're so sweet...

Thanks & good luck! I'm not sure but if you have a Dominican shop near you, it's worth a try.

I personally saw the shedding start when I switched from my liquid leave-in (911) to a cream leave-in (Lacio & Silicon mix). It could be from a change in regimine. I still use the cream leave-in's so I don't think it's bad for my hair. It could happen before a growth spert or even seasonal. Try diluting your garlic poo. There is a great constant shedder's support thread here too.

I agree with CoverGirl, find a good moisturizing conditioner. Sorry I don't have any suggestions on this 'cause I use water as my moisturizer... sealed with oil.

I just purchased the Apretadora on ebay, so I should have it by next week. Thanks again for your insight and advice.

I have a good moisturizing conditioner: Nexxus Humectress. And I have begun using the Alter Ego, which is sooo good. Have you tried it? And there is a thread out there suggesting that the Alter Ego Energizing Conditioner is the most moisturizng conditioner out there. So, I will try that. Have you tried them. What conditioner do you use?

Have a blessed weekend.

Any time I have a problem with shedding, I use the Alter Ego Hot Garlic and it works like a charm. I now use it at least once a week and the shedding has not returned. I also have the Nutrine Garlic conditioner, so I use that if I run out of the Alter Ego (I have to order this). The Apretadora is good, too, but I am a die-hard Hot Garlic chick :yep:

Chocolatesoda, I tried the Apretadora last night, but I am still shedding. It did decrease, but it's still there. Should I do it again, if so, how often should I use it? It made my hair quite tangly. And since I used that darn garlic shampoo, my hair hasn't been the same.

Besides, I am due for a touch-up next week, so I was wondering if maybe that's why my hair is acting up. Though it usually doesn't do that. I've never had so much shedding before. Maybe I need to use it again, cause it has gotten better. I am just wondering how long I should wait to do it again.

Thanks

If so, how often do you use it? Has it helped with shedding? I hate the way it terribly tangles my hair. Did you feel that it dried out your hair?

I use it once a week and one lather, I follow with a moisturizing shampoo because YES it is very drying. I use the unscented garlic shampoo from queen helene, and follow with Nexxus therrape shampoo.

Yes, it terribly tangled my hair. And yes, I feel like it dried my hair, but then again, my hair has been dried out every since I used that darn garlic shampoo. I'm hoping that getting a touch-up will somehow bring the moisture back to my hair.

I did follow it with Nexxus Therappe as well, but my hair was still dry. I don't know what to do now....

Have others have issues like Blessed_Angel with the Garlic Shampoos drying their hair out?

You know what Annie, I don't have a problem with shedding anymore. What I did different, I now rinse my hair with cool water after washing. That made all the different...but I even if the problem returned, I will not use the poo again! :nono:

I keep Nutrine Garlic Conditioner and Alter Ego Garlic Hot Oil DC'er in my Stash. Both are staples and "Go To's" for any potential "Shedding" (No Shampoos Tho'):nono: Only Conditioners.

Also, I just incorporated Black Tea Rinses as well. So, I'm well-equipped for any potential issues.
