Thanks ladies! The green tea, like chamomile tea, is slightly acidic. I use it in place of the ACV or lemon juice. It makes the process slightly less drying.

Question for you CurlyNikki.

Did you have breakage problems before henna and did henna help?

Hi :)

I had breakage and splitting issues due to heat damage and highlights. The henna single handedly allowed me to grow my hair to new lengths. The splitting and breakage have drastically reduced, and the health of my hair has improved! I may get a few splits here and there, and a teeny bit of breakage..but nothing major, and probably due to mechanical stuff.

However, every head is different. And if your hair is dry and breaking, I'd most certainly proceed with caution. Make sure to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

I love your beautiful hair and your blog. I also love Henna. Like you, I have used Jamila with great results. I've never done it on wet hair. You're a real pro! The headband tip is something I will use... thank you!!! All of your little tricks are awesome!

Thanks Angelicus! I'm happy I've helped ya :D I love my Jamila henna. I missed my bi-weekly treatment this week, so I'm going to play hooky from work and probably do a treatment this Thursday night ;0) What benefits have you reaped from henna?

Thanks NatrlChallenge!!!!! You do too!

Hello.

I love the Jamila Brand. It is very fresh. It's actually the fourth brand of Henna that I have used. I have a sandy brown color but it makes my hair a perfect shade, ready for indigo.

Mumtaz is actually a good brand too but it makes my hair... well... a magenta color. It works a little too well. When I did the indigo afterwards my hair was extremely black and it almost didn't look natural. Using Jamila brand has helped my hair have a nice, natural black hue.

Since using Jamila, my hair is much softer and managable. I wish I could do the treatment twice a month because then my hair would be strong as a rope! Once again, thank you for your video.

Wow, nik. Great tutorial. You're making me want to give henna another shot. I've had no success at all with it. But I never thought to just mix the darn stuff, apply it to my head & leave it on overnite. Now that's something I can get with!!

What is the darkest shade of "single-application-without-the-fuss-of-indigo" henna I can buy. Is jamila the darkest??

How often should you do the henna? My hair liked it the first time, but I am nervous to do it again so soon...it's been about two weeks

I was wondering how often you henna as well. I am excited to try it out for the first time next weekend, I love your picture tutorial and that you literally gave every step needed because there are so many ways out there. Your steps seem great to prevent drying because you made sure to condition so I think I'll be following your process. That was also a smart idea to use cotton balls and a headband to prevent dripping.
