From what date do you count your nappiversary?

I count mine from my BC, because I still had some relaxed hair until then and was wearing it in somewhat straight styles. My last relaxer was june 2004, BC Feb 2005.

I've only had my hair straightened one time since my last relaxer in April. I've been wearing curly/wavy styles for over a year now. I'll be at the 7 month mark from my BC by then. I'm just getting started. I just wish it would grow already. :look:

Well I BC'd in November 2004 but the only picture I have of my hair after I cut it is April 2005. So I will use this date since I have a definite reference point. Not to mention I kept getting haircuts up until this point. Its a little wacky but there is a method to my madness.

I count from my BC 05.08.06 .......BUT I also let people know that I transitioned for 14 months. It's kind of janky to be like "I been natural for 7 months and got 9 inches of hair." when in reality that is 20 months worth of hair growth.

From the date that I chopped off my relaxed hair...but i do indicate the date of my last relaxer.

i will use the date of last relaxer

cause it always seemed odd to me when ppl say , "im two months natural" but they had brastrap length natural hair........

that is true a lot of people forget to factor in that...I dont think its important to really mention it if you bc'd like 4 months after your last relaxer cuz usually its less than 3 inches of hair on your head. But yea if you transitioned for 1 year and some change and then Bc'd, I think it's important to mention that.

It was a gradual progression of cuts over the spring and summer months of 2005. So hard to say. I was completely chemical free by August 2005. I had yet to learn how to care for my hair, so it was not thriving. It was not until May 2006, which is when I really started to implement the knowledge I found on hair boards. I guess I'll make August the official date, that means just over a year Nappy. Happy belated Anniversary to ME.

Good point!

I will count from the day I chopped, but I also always mention that I transitioned for 9 months.

I count from the big chop, July 6, 2005. But I did have a 14 month transition.

My birthday!! GREAT day, glad you could enjoy it too! :D

I count from the day after I got my last relaxer, because all the hair I have now results from the day after.

i was wondering about this also on how you go about counting the date and anniversary....

Just a newbie/transitioner chiming in....i think i would rather count from my last relaxer and like someone else mentioned its because the new growth is a result of what you have and continued to have by not relaxing.....
