I am texlaxed but I didnt wait I just began to stretch my relaxers. Some people do the big chop and some people like me gradually cut the overprocessed ends off.hth

I just started doing it without chopping. At first, I started with bone straight ends and texturized roots. I had to be extra careful with my hair, and started stretching for a minimum of four months. It can be done. Today, 85% of my hair is texturized.

How long have you been texturizing now? I decided to use this same approach, except I'll be texlaxed. Stretching for 4 months with STRAIGHT hair is hard but I think once I start with the texlaxing, it will be somewhat easier.

I've been doing it for about a year and a half now. The first time it was accidental, but I've been loving it ever since. When I stretched with straight hair, it was murder, mainly because I had straight overprocessed hair. As you go, it gets much easier. I've had to adjust the products that I need to. I started using shampoos to thicken up my hair, but now I can't go near those  . I focus a lot on detangling shampoos and conditioners.

The only problem I have is getting uniform results. The only reason I'm stretching is because I don't know of a stylist that I want to texturize my hair because I'm afraid they may process too long :ohwell: .

Thanks! I think stretching longer than 8 weeks will help me with the results. I accidently texlaxed the back last time and it's great. I can't wait to have a head full of texlaxed hair. Going for suber-straight makes my already thin hair look pathetic. :(

I really want to be all texturized but I don't want to do the chop. So in other words, you stretched for about 4 months and then you started texturizing?

I actually stretched about 5 months the first time, then got my hair texturized. After that, I went another 5 months, then 4, and so on. The key was just waiting until the new growth was way too much. After a while, so much of the hair was texturized that stretching was not an issue.

I think the hardest part is dealing with majority straight hair. It just takes a lot of time and patience.
