I have had my cornrows a little over a week now and they are so frizzy. I can tell that the frizzy part is actually my hair. Does this mean my hair is going to be damaged sticking up like this for a long period of time?

I dont think your hair will be damaged...it's just hair that has gotten out of place from your cornrows. Just make sure u dont keep them in past 2 weeks. Get them re-done.

I would suggest using some Worlds of Curls Activator on your hair and then tie your hair down with a scarf (maybe overnight). This is how I kept my cornrows from getting frizzy and kept my hair moisturized. HTH

I feel ya and your hair will thank you for it! I have been wearing braids since April. I just put my second set in last Saturday and I need these to last at least 4-6 weeks so I do whatever it takes to keep the frizzies away!

Is your hair natural or do you have a lot of new growth? What type of hair are you using human or synetic? I asked because I just took my cornrows out after leaving them in for 5 weeks and my hair was very frizzy after the 2nd. I realized that it was mainly because of my 7 months of new growth (I am transitioning). I thought my hair would’ve been damage after I took it out and my hair ended up feeling more healthier.

If I were you I would stick with it for another 2 weeks, to give your hair time to grow and so you don’t have deal with the pulling and tugging all over again, because you are re-braiding too soon.

What help me out was to wash (shampoo and conditioner) once a week, I sprayed Surge 14 and moisturized with natures blessing pomade. I wrap my head in a satin scarf until it would dry. This help a lot with my frizzies.
