Fresh curled hair hats in the east

I live in Jersey is it cold or what? I roll my hair every night now and just got a hat how can I wear a hat without my curls leaving? is there a way or should I just give up on the curls? I'm tempted to just for go my hat then I think am I crazy or playing vain? Help I need advice.

girl, u betta cover up dat head and slap a bun in the back for a while...I am in jerz too and its too cold to be letting ur ears burn for curls...
plus u dont wanna catch a cold...
either that or get one of those muffs that go all arounf the head but the top of your hair is out...

That's why I don't wear hats outside in winter. I haven't been able to figure it out. My mom is known for her hats and must have one to match every coat. She usually she wears her hair down with a tam and it doesn't crush her hair. For work she usually doesn't take her pincurls out until she gets there since she gets in at 6am and many people aren't around. She'll wear her scarf and put the hat on and then take her hair down once and comb it in her office. I wouldn't do it but it works for her. Anywhere else she just combs it at home and then puts her hat on and leaves out.
