i am trying to get my fotki up and running so I am ready for my February reveal date. I see ladies taking their own pictures with cameras perched upon heads - and they're good pictures. No glaring flash that prevents any hair from being seen, no pictures too close or too far away - how do you ladies do this?

Use a hand held mirror so you can see the back/screen of your digital camera and turn the flash off. Have fun!!!

Girl please....we fake it til we make it! At least I know I do! I have lots of pics in my fotki and they are all taken with my little crappy 3 MP camera, and you definitely can tell. Some of the pics turn out okay, some don't...I guess I should stop being cheap and get a better camera. I just use a mirror in one hand to look behind at my reflection in the mirror and aim the camera over my head towards the mirror. Then I look at the mirror to make sure the picture I want is in the screen on the camera. I snap when it looks good. I make sure to turn off the flash so I don't get the flash in my shot. Then when I crop the pic....I usually take out as much of the background as possible so the pics comes up a little closer. Sorry I can't be more help, but I can't be more technical yet with my little piece of camera.

Okay - hand mirror, no flash. I will try this. I bought myself a really cool camera for christmas and the package accidently opened itself, so I was forced to use the camera.
