I finally found a small tube of this for $3.49. My question is, how do yall use it? With heat or without? For how long? The tube says massage in for 30 seconds and rinse after 15 minutes but I just want to get an idea of how others use it.

Oh and a word to the wise, Motions now makes no-mix no-lye relaxers that look just like the lye jars so make sure you read the package before buying. Some woman picked on up by mistake and had to return it since she wanted the lye one.

I put it on my hair and put a plastic cap over my hair. I leave it on my hair for about an hour or two without heat then I rinse it out.

I also put it on generously and I leave it in for about an hour with no heat. I used it once with heat and I did not like the results.

I have a few different techniques....

"Quick Conditioning" days.... after washing, I'll apply conditioner, cover with a plastic cap & let it penetrate until I'm through showering....about 15 mins. Sometimes I'll cover the plastic cap with a warm towel, or even let the warm shower stream water run along the plastic cap with my head tilted back. These lil techniques allow the conditioner to penetrate better

.

"Deep Conditioning" days.... after washing, I'll apply conditioner, cover with plasti cap & sit under the hooded dryer for 30 mins.

"Overnight Conditioning".... I like to do this whenever I've passed my wkly wash by a few days. After washing, towel blot dry. wrap a "cotton beauty coil" around the outter hair line to catch any running water / conditioner. apply conditioner, cover with plastic cap, sometimes I'll add another larger shower cap on top. In the morning, rinse out conditioner.

I have used it with and without heat. Either way, the results are marvelous. Very soft, moisturized hair with tons of slip. The shine when the hair dries is great.

I have this. I am wondering if anyone knows how this compares to the motions silk protein conditioner? Also could this be used as a part of the no poo washes? I am seriously trying to get a regime down and the only thing I have is the VO5 pina colada and I may pick up st. ives vanilla and edleweiss moisturizing conditioner but I need a deep conditioner so I need a clue as to what to use.

Do you need to follow this up with a moisturizing conditioner? God bless you all.

Hi Azul,

I use both the motions moisture plus and the motions silk protein conditioners. I started off with just the moisture plus, but once I tried the silk protein one I now use that one almost exclusively because the silk protein fortifies my hair.

I think the moisture plus would be excellent for condition washes. I now use it on days that I'm doing a quick wash and conditioner, and of course, I don't use the heat....it wouldn't be a quick condition if I did. Since I wash at least twice a week, and usually deep condition twice a week, it's okay to do quick conditions when I feel I need it.

Jazzy, I mainly use it without heat. I used it a few weeks back with heat and the results were blah. I think for me it works better cold. I leave it on for a good 20 minutes. Longer if I have time.

I just started using Motions Moisture Plus for conditioner washes and I really like it. It has a thick consistency (which is a major plus) and works well with my leave-ins.
