Let them laugh! The extra blingin' hair as a result of the steamer will be
well worth it. :yep:

Why are ya'll tempting me?? I think this will be on my Christmas wish list. I've been dying to try steam with the Ayurvedic treatments.

That's what I plan to do. I'm collecting my ayurvedic herbs
and oils now.

So much hair to grow. So little time. :spinning:

Ok, I just put together my Salon R Us steamer and I have a question. They only put a picture direction as far as the poll. I see one of the plastic bags with the user manual has 2 little glass thingies will silver on both ends, what are they for? I was able to figure out the rest from the picture in the user manual but I still have those little glass things. Thanks

Bump for answer! Thanks!

Sorry. I really wish I could help you. Mine was put together one day when I was at work. When I came home, it was all set up. I never saw the actual contents.:ohwell:

Will Bump this for You. Hope you're able to figure it out.:look:

btw: *i only use distilled water in mine based on some things i read from previous steamer threads*

I was wondering abut those small silver tubes too. I saved them but didn't add them anywhere to the steamer.

Like IDareT'sHair I only use distilled water. I also add 3-5 drops of lavender oil or rosemary oil too. It adds a spa-like quality and aromatherapy.

Don't You Just Love It? When I hear the Ladies talking about a Certain Product Giving them A "Hairgasm" I think, Unless they are using a Steamer............They Don't even have a Clue.:nono: What they Got was just a little 4-Play:look:

Steaming is an awesome feeling. And it is very Relaxing Overall.:yep:

What did you read regarding using distilled water vs. tap water?

What did you read regarding using distilled water vs. tap water?

That it works better for the Intregal Working Parts of the Steamer. Some people had written that the "insides" of their Steamers had Rusted Out? If you research some of the older threads, there has been discussion on that.

Especially, since the one we got really didn't come with what you would call: Complete Instructions on the General Maintenance, Wear & Tear etc....

So, after reading that, I have just always used distilled.

Thanks ladies! Well, I used it today and it worked, so I'll keep the tiny glass & silver tubes in a safe place just in case!

Well I gave myself a Henna treatment overnight on dry hair the night before (I put Jamila henna with Amla powder mixture on dry hair Friday night and slept with it). I woke up in the morning and wash and then deep condition using the steamer for 30 minutes. I could not tell any benefit since henna treatments always makes my hair hard and the deep contiditioning did not really soften it up that much. but once it was dry and I add my Lacio, my hair is really shiny. I love how it looks but I don't know if it was the henna treatment or the steamer that gave me that result. I use henna every 3 months after my 30th birthday because I started getting a couple of grey hairs, I just turned 32 on June 24th and I had like about 8 grey hairs and have not use henna for over 6 months. Henna is messy to me and for me to get the benefit, I need to keep it in my hair for at least 4 hours, so I usually do it late at night on dry hair and sleep with it using a plastic cap. I wash every Saturday morning, so I'll wait next week to know for sure. One thing I can say now about it is that I love the way it feels. I expect to be uncomfortable since sitting under a dryer is something I hate but the steamer was a completely different experience. I'm going to try the rosemary and lavender oil next time!

What DC product did you use? I Henna as well. I have a Considerable amount of Grey. I always wash my Henna/Indigo out with Conditioner and then I will DC with my Steamer for about 30 minutes/1 Hour with either AO HSR or WC or something very moisturizing.

Sine I've been on this board, I've tried a bunch of conditioners but after years of being a pj, I now know what works for me. I used Organics Hair Mayonnaise by Africa's Best (don't like the one by ORS). I also added a little bit of Elucence Moisture Balance Conditioner. Like I said, I only henna once very 3 months and that's usually the week after I get a relaxer (I relax every 12 weeks). I skipped it last relaxer but I just got one last week and decided to get rid of the few greys; I won't have to henna for another 12 weeks, so I'll be able to see the difference. I plan to use the same conditioners this coming Saturday (I alternate between several of my favorite deep conditioners, usually after every 2 wash, I change conditioner).

Totally random, but I just got my steamer as well and, once again, couldn't figure out the glass things. My SO thinks they're replacement bulbs for the switches. FYI.

soooo. tempted to get a steamer.... but, ( Pardon me if someone else asked this) , how do you use it?

After you wash or co wash, are you supposed to steam with your favorite deep conditioner and then.... WASH it out? I wonder about that since its all water..
Please help.

Please give your steam regie..

Thanks.
