How long can you go with just using conditioner before you either get: an itchy scalp or buildup? I did not use shampoo on my last hair session. I just applied conditioner to dry hair with a plastic cap for 2 hours, rinsed and styled. My hair was instantly manageable, no tangles, no dryness, especially the ends. My hair looked better as the week went on.

I want to keep this going, but wonder at what point do you get diminishing returns.

Thx.

I haven't used shampoo in - dang, almost 18 months, now, and when buildup/itchies start to show up, I mix a little baking soda into my conditioner, and roll on.

I use all cone-free products though, so that makes a difference.

I don't use shampoo either. I wash weekly with a baking soda conditioner paste. It's working lovely.

i have been only shampooing my scalp and seriously not even trying to get into my hair with it. i do it once a week tho and COwash every 2-3 days.

i guess i do use poo tho but my scalp gets itchy, i may try doing ACV and only pooing once a month soon, but so far this has been working for me

No shampoo in about 4 months. I do the baking soda thing too or use very diluted castile and that's about every two weeks. I don't get build up because I mix my own stuff with natural virgin oils and what not. For CO washes I use honey and EVOO mixtures so no build up there either.

I use a shampoo every other month. I was using rinsing (water) and shea butter as my only products eventually the build up (of just the shea butter) on my scalp just got on my nerves. Once I rinsed my hair looked a lot better and my scalp felt great. I will probably go two more rinses before I wash again.
