Do you find that the hair closest to the new growth gets a little bit straighter when you do a touchup due to overlapping or when rinsing the chemicals out?

I've only had 2 touch-ups ever, but I never noticed that. But when you think about it that *should* be the case...

I noticed at times that does happen when I touch up. I am learning to stretch though, because I thinks its because of overlapping in some areas. I havent had any issues with breakage in those areas though because of it happening.

I do apply oil to all of my hair, except for the new growth, before relaxing. This protects my hair just in case I do overlap and when I rinse my hair.

hm, your questions kind of confusing... could you restate it somehow?

When you do a retouch. Does the previously relaxed, underprocessed hair get a little straighter because 1) you overlap a little or 2) the relaxer runs through it during the wash out?

This is a good idea to prevent overprocessing.

Okay so then I guess I'll have to go straighter than I thought since the general consensus is that the underprocessed hair does not get straighter over time.
