How long do you sit under the dryer or heating cap? I'm thinking that 30 min. gets the job done but just wondering if there are any benefits to doing it longer???
the last time I DC'd I went under the drier for 30 minutes, but it was late at night and I didnt feel like finishing up my hair, so I went to bed and let it sit overnight . When I woke up (after 6 hours) and rinsed the conditioner out, my hair felt heavenly .
I use to sit under the dryer for only 15 minutes, but now when I go to the hairdresser, I crank that dryer up to go a good 25 minutes hoping they don't notice that i'm sitting under there longer than their alloted 10-15 minutes .
It also depends on what conditioner i'm using.. if it's Elucence MB, than the usual 15 minutes should suffice, but anything heavier, I'm cranking the dryer up in time. This wknd I will use Alter Ego garlic treatment, and best believe I will be under that dryer for about 30 minutes
Thanks ladies. I use Elasta QP's Intense cond. with coconut oil added. I love the softness and shine that it gives my hair. I'll stick with 30 min. I was just wondering if I would get extra benefits from dcing longer.
I say about 20-30 for me. But i do not sit under the dryer b/c i do not have one. i warm up my wet towel in the micro and wrap around my head for about 10-15 2x.
not longer than 30 min with heat or the con will dry out and render basically useless. 15-20 min is a pretty good range when using heat. without heat, 30 min and longer
