I use cheap conditioner like VO5 or Suave and I lather up just like shampoo while in the shower and let it sit on my hair while bathing and right after bathing I rinse the conditoner out of my hair.

That's exactly what I do except I comb the conditioner through before I let it sit and as I rinse, I comb it through again.

Let the shower stream hit your hair for about 3 to 5 minutes to loosen up debris and product buildup. After that process, squeeze out water from your length and pour conditioner on your head. Really saturate every strand from roots to ends. Make a couple of finger parts and pour conditioner on the parts. Run the shower again and let just a little water hit your hair. Massage your scalp REALLY GOOD for about 3 minutes. Don't pile your hair on top of your head, or else you'll get lots of tangles. Comb your hair (with the conditioner still in it) with a wide tooth comb, then rinse out. You can also comb out your hair during your rinse, I do both.

You can do a deep conditioner afterwards, or just let your hair drip dry and apply a good leave-in. I don't condition afterwards because my hair is very soft and I think the conditioner wash is sufficient for me.

thanks alot. I wasnt sure what kind of conditioners and how much effort people were putting into it.
