What are your reccommendations for me in preparing for the switch?

Should I get the Aphogee treatment before the relaxer (today)? During the relaxer (Saturday), or a few days after the relaxer?

The switch went great. I never had waist length hair when I used no-lye. I did not experience any breakage (or anything negative). No, I did not have to cut my hair. When I used no-lye, my hair would always be dry. Those days are long gone.

Same here. I couldn't figure out why my hair was so dry either, and it wasn't until yesterday when I switched from no-lye to lye that I realized that the no-lye was the culprit.

Don't know if that question was meant for Allandra or myself but if it was for me the answer is yes. I used Nexxus Keraphix mixed with the Affirm 5-in-1. Loved this!

I can relate to the positive changes resulting from switching to lye. I did the switch last Saturday and I'm still amazed that my hair is far from dry and still has that natural shine to it...not to mention outrageous body...and I haven't had to use any oil in my hair since!

I'm definitely glad to have made the switch!

I didn't have to do anything special to prep. However, I don't apply my own touchups. My stylist kept trying to get me to stick with no-lye, but I insisted that I switch back to lye.

I had always used lye and it seemed that no-lye didn't last and my hair was dryer.

I didnt do anything special either. I just switch over to lye. I can truly tell the differecne. Lye is way better it's more moisturizing. No Lye tend to make my hair really dry and break off very badly.

Does anyone know what the mildest no-lye relaxer is and what the mildest lye relaxer is?? So you are switching to lye Prettybrownjaz?

I didn't have to cut my hair since I got it relaxed last year and started out w a no-lye. But in previous years i can tell a big difference between how a lye feels after a week and a no-lye. I never kept my hair permed consistantly because the no-lye would revert to quickly.

No prep...my hairdresser simply cringed at the thought of my using no-lye and plunged in. This was years ago and I have never looked back, except when I went natural for a while there...then back to lye!

I had no underprocessed hair...my hair came out absolutely perfect...I, myself, was stunned when I looked in the mirror.

I think ones results depends on having it done professionally with an experienced stylist with a good track record.
