I've been reading in some posts that this product and process helps to straighten relaxed hair to extend time between relaxers. I was just wonder how well it worked for coarse hair? And also, are there any hairdressers that do this process? Or can it be done at home?

RabiaElaine, only the Hennalucent can be used on relaxed hair. It's a simple process and can be done at home.

In speaking with my hairdresser she knew of it, said it was an excellent product and would probably use it on my hair if I brought it in. But you can do yourself. I'm not sure about how it works on course hair

Hi RabiaElaine,

Hennalucent can be used at home. If you read the hennaphilic thread, there are hennalucent recipes and links attached to some of those posts. I know on natural hair, it straightens the curl-pattern of the hair. Now if a person is natural, hennalucent will not make it relaxer straight. But just straighter and less bulky than the person's natural hair texture. As you've read on the hennaphilic thread, for those who relax it can help to extend a persons relaxing time, because it is a nice debulking product and as I've already said, it helps to loosen the curl-pattern of a persons natural hair. You can get this at most bss(beauty supply stores.)

Rabia I've edited this to say if you go to the "Feature of the Month" section of the forum, there you will see a member named Zanna. She uses hennalucent and has gorgeous waistelength, relaxed hair

I used the Hennalucent in Bark Brown about 2 months ago. I did alot of research using this board before I tried. I am transitiong and I have a alot of new growth.

My reason for using the Hennalucent was not to straighten my hair but to find a natural way to color my dyed ends to mtatch my newgroth.

I did not notice any difference in the detangling department, but again I only used it once. My only problem was that my hair came out tooooooooo dark, it was black and my roots were brown.

Anywayz the color has begun to fade. I would recommend the Hennalucent, but if you want to use it to color your hair, try a shade lighter than what you would like it to be.
