I have a gradution on May 21st
I am going to get my hair pressed for the first time since April of last year!!
I don't know how my hair will react, as far as reverting goes
Anyhow, I've yet to do a pincurl and I would like to for my graduation
But I dont want to wake up with it sweated out or something

So should I just wrap it and leave it alone to ensure a nice do
Or should I attempt to pin curl it and take a chance

I voted to just wrap it. The only reason I did though, eventhough I love a good pin curl is b/c that cap is tighter than it looks, and most likely the curls won't hold under it. And unless you're willing to bust out the curling iron, you probably will be flat for dinner w/ the fam and such. I would wear it straight for the ceremony, and maybe pin curl it the next day or the day before, or when it starts to get old. If you were doing a rollerset, it'd be a different story.

Congratulations on your upcoming commencement!

If you can, get the Mizani ThermaSmooth straightening system for your flatiron service. Then you won't have to be concerned about sweating your hair out.

I think that for the occasion you should wear a pincurl style. Have your stylist curl it the way you want, and ask him/her to show you how to pincurl.

First, CONGRATS!!! Second, I voted to do the wrap because you will have more predictable results. You don't want to wait to try a pin curl right before a big event without knowing how it will turn out exactly and how it will last throughout the day. You will probably have a lot to worry about that day anyway, so just stick with the style you're most comfortable with. I'm sure you will look beautiful.

Congratulations Graduate! :) I agree, I think that pin curls would be nice for the occasion as long as it doesn't drop.

Congratulations :dance7:

Anyway, I think you should wear your hair straight/wrapped especially if you will be wearing a cap and if you don't wear your hair straight often this would be the perfect time to do so. I am sure you will look great with what ever style you choose.

Congrats!!

Unless you are experienced at pincurls PLEASE do not attempt this right before such as important day as your graduation. I've done pincurls over 20 times and have had about as many different outcomes. Some people do them perfectly the first time, but unless you're sure of your ability to do so please wait until a less important day.

just my opinion... but HAVE FUN!!

I vote leave it as it is. Or if you want to do pincurls I would try the style out beforehand to see how it looks. I graduated from college on Saturday and everyone had been telling me I should wear my hair straight (I'd been wearing it curly since August when I went natural). I almost decided to leave my hair alone and wear it curly, but thought that this was a special occasion and I was curious as to how long it would be.

So I straightened it. I was out of practice with my flat iron and my ends were bad (couldn't tell with it curly). My hair turned out ok (puffy and not silky straight--but not horrible) but it was not worth all the effort I had to go through to do it. It ended up being in a ponytail b/c it was to puffy to wear down (my cap wouldn't have fit correctly).

ETA: Congratulations on graduating! I know how excited you must be.

I voted to wrap it. At least you know for sure how that will turn out. I wouldnt experiment with something new for the first time on such a special day for you. :) There will be lots of pictures taken, and you dont wanna look back and be mad at yourself.

i think i will leave it alone and attempt a pincurl after the ceremony
also, i forgot i had to wear that stinkin cap that does NOT fit on my head

They never make those caps easy to fit in so I think maybe a wrap will be the best (your hair in your siggy pic is hot!!)
