What dyes are you guys using?
Do you all self dye?
How have the dyes affected your hair?

I do self-dye (and self-bleach). As far as the impact on my hair-I've dyed blonde and bleached blonde before. The result was beautiful, big ringlets instead of my mostly small and tight curls. Once I went dark, my hair went back to normal. I'll show a pic of this when I get online, as it is not on my phone.

My current color is a mixture of black, brown and reddish-auburn. The reddish auburn is in my roots and a result of henna on my natural color. Will update with a pic soon.

This year I'm *trying* to avoid dyes (except for henna), which is very hard for me. Whew, wish me luck! I'll simply live through all you other colored naturals for the time being!

Thank you so much. I went to a stylist. It's actually a custom made color. I just told her that I wanted my hair to be lighter, and she blended the color there. I'm sorry I don't know what the colors she blended to make it that light.

As far as the style, I just washed my hair, and twisted, but I took the twists down while they were still wet. This is actually a picture from July, it's hard to remember what I used, sorry. I think I used Komaza's Califia Styling Pudding though. Thank you again for the compliment.

Ugh... This thread makes me want to dye my hair. Once I started my HHJ I stopped dying my hair, but I LOVED it! My do a rinse with Manic Panic Vampire Red during the summer though...
