Flexi rod users....?

When use them, are you able to get it to curl at the root or the root be straight and the rest be curly like mines? Lol I watch the YouTube videos and do it the way they do it and it never comes out that way!

I use flexi rods on flat ironed hair so idk about the straight root part lol..it may depend on how many rollers you use and how tight you roll. I'm gonna try it on wet hair and see it turns out..
