Flaxseed Oil Users: How long did it take for you to see results?

I have been taking this for two weeks and have not seen any changes. What results have you gotten and how long has it taken to see them. I notice alot of ppl say they felt oily but I have not felt this yet. Is it too early? I take the pills....for those who take the pills how long did it take to see results? I take 4000 mg per day. If I don't see results in about two more weeks I'm gonna stop taking it cuz it's 4 extra pills that aren't doing a thing. Also, what are the benefits of flaxseed oil for the hair?

I find it is better to take the OIL. If that helps any.

I am gonna try the pills until i finish the bottle and then switch to the oil. I figure that I have 120 pills in the bottle and am gonna take 4 a day so thats 30 days. So after the month i will switch to the oil.

ITA about taking the oil rather than the capules. I bought the capsules once when traveling (they don't have to be refrigerated) and I realized it was convenient and better than nothing but not quite the same as taking the actual oil, which I've done for several years now, long before I discovered hair boards.

I saw results (shinier hair, brighter and smoother skin) the first week I started taking a tablespoon full of flaxseed oil (Spectrum) daily and I knew then I would always take it. Now I take two tablespoons of it daily and I love the results!:)

You are taking only 4 each day? I thought the standard dosage was 14 capsules each day to equal just one tablespoon. One tablespoon per 100 pounds of weight is recommended.

Flaxseed oil comes in capsules rather than pills - we're talking about the same thing, right?

I've just completed my first week taking the oil, and I've noticed that my eczema is flaring up. If this continues into a second week, I will stop taking it. It is the pure oil. I keep it in the refrigerator.

I think it may be healing the eczema, keep taking it. Sometimes with natural remedies when the poisons are being purged from your system, it appears that your symptoms are getting worse but this is only temporary. I would take it for a solid two months before making a decision.

LeNghtyDreAms: I find that mixing the flaxseed oil in food is the best way to take it. It is yummy in a smoothie, or w/ lemon as a salad dressing, or drizzled on rice or other food. I've drizzled mine on toast etc.

Remember, if we took a TB of Olive or any other oil the taste would not be that pleasing either.

that is 4000 mg....how many mg does everyone else take?

It took about 2 weeks to see results. I noticed the smoothness of my face first and when I skip taking it I can tell. It does seem to soften my new growth and helps control my seborrhic dermatitis also.

I like the Spectra brand the best. It tastes buttery. I don't mix it with anything. Just take 1 tablespoon daily right before a meal. Only thing I don't like is the caloric intake (130 cals per tbsp)

I would NOT recommend the oil from Walmart. Its on the shelf in a black bottle in the vitamin section. It had a bitter aftertaste and later I was burping and it was fishy:barf:

I think I am gonna just stop taking it all together. It doesn't seem worth it to me. I don't think I will see drastic results even with taking the oil straight. Now I am mad that I wasted my money on all these pills (120 ct)

I agree. I usually take two tablespoons a day. My skin GLOWS when I'm faithful to taking it. And I was quite REGULAR, if you know what I mean.... I'm going to get some today so I can get back on track re. health.

how do you ladies deal with the taste of the flaxseed oil?

Doesn't bother me... sometimes I pinch my nose and swallow real fast. Since you're supposed to take it with food, sometimes I put it in my oatmeal or I'll take it with a piece of banana....

That is what I thought too. I'd read before that you won't really notice any results unless you're taking a teaspoon or more. But then someone on this board posted that they got bigger breasts from taking 1 pill per day (or something like that).

I squeeze it in my juice.

I make a fresh juice cocktail of freshly juiced carrot, apple and ginger every workday morning.
