To each his own. :)
What size (1", 2", etc.) do you think is best for hair that is a little below shoulder length?

Note: I'd like to be able to straighten the entire length of my hair, especially near the scalp.

For me, I prefer a 1" because it allows me to get closer to the scalp. Especially being natural, it really helps, but it does take a little longer.

I just purchased a 1'' one.. And I think its good for me because with the larger ones I tend to have too much hair in one section and it never gets srt8. With the one inch I have no choice but to have small sections take my time and get better results. I have yet to try it but I cant wait until I do.

I bought the 1 and 3/4 inch plates. I can still get near the scalp and its faster.

They do recommend the larger plates for 'ethnic hair' but its up the individual I suppose

My hair is past my shoulders and I bought a 1 3/4" sized iron. I love it. No problems. To me, the only advantage in getting a bigger iron like the 2" CHI turbo is to achieve bigger bumps/curls on the ends.

HTH!

I am leaning towards 1 3/4"...if they have 1 1/2", I'd probably get that. Thanks for the responses. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a 1" one and my hair is past my shoulders. I still don't know how to straighten my new growth but I do like it better then the bigger ones.

For the roots, it's best to have a 1" one. But for the length, I have a 1 3/4". I've tried to do an all over with the 1" one. That's why I waited an entire year to try again with a bigger iron. It doesn't take as long with the bigger iron.
