I tried searching and couldnt find anything specific.

Ok ladies what do you do on wash day after a flat Iron. I dont flat iron my hair often but I did for the End of year Length check. I will be washing my hair soon and would like to know the best practice.

Should I use protein? If so what kind Light /heavy.

Should I do a mixture of Dc's say a light protein such as the replenishing pak and a heavy moisturiser such as motions moisture plus?

Could I do a hot oil treatment on the straight hair and then do a moisturising treatment, would it work or make a difference. Should I do them separately?

Any tips and hints would be much appreciated TIA.

I straighten a lot, and find it best to act on what my hair "tells" me. Unless there's been a lot of heat or its used regularly, a heavy protein treatment may not be necessary. Since you don't straighten often, its probably okay to do what you would do normally on wash day. (Assuming that includes a DC)

I usually DC for sure. Normally I have done a protein treatment in the weeks before flat ironing.

Heat breaks down the protein bonds within our hair. So on dry hair ill apply my protein mix (egg, mayo wheat germ oil) link to tutorial should be in my siggy

Then after about an hour .. Ill rinse of and shampoo with elasta qp creme conditioning shampoo ... Then ill follow up with a moisturising deep conditioner
