I have this patch on my scalp that is always flaking on me. It does not itch at all and the flaking is confined to just this one spot, like the size of a dime, so I know it is not dandruff. it has been happening for about a year or so. I thought the problem would go away after I stopped relaxing but this has not been the case.

What could it be? What is an effective remedy? This patch is on the front, center of my scalp (figures...).

Psoriasis My son has it :) for some reason his happens with hair cuts, so I started with Amla oil and twist and he hasn't had a problem since. :nono: dunno what but no medications worked!

I have psoriasis both on my face and scalp, I use a prescription cream (Westcort) but I don't like relying on it for prolonged use because it thins the skin over time so I only use it for extreme flare ups, I use Bio-Oil to keep the skin moist and supple. It can be costly for little bottle but you only need to use a very small amount. HTH

Psoriasis - I have it along my scalp on the hairline. I use Neutrogena T-Sal. It has salicilic (sp) acid in it. Same thing as betahydroxic acid.

The Neutrogena T Gel worked for a little while, nothing worked like that Amla oil weekly on his hair. The doctor prescribed a few shampoos and creams, I basically scraped it until it was low and just bled a little and then washed his hair with HE HH, and gave him an hour long Amla oil treatment until it stopped :) which was maybe a month. He was being teased at school and I felt ultra bad :( I had to do something.

Yep...I have this on the front of my hairline, mostly on the left side. Same thing, doesn't itch and flakes pretty quickly...oddly enough when I used Mega Tek, it seriously vanished but came back after I stopped.
