They're both good. I've been flip flopping in taking these two because I can't decide which one I want to stick with,
but I THINK Flaxseed contains more omega 3 oils. Also, the thing with Flaxseed, you can take the oil in liquid form, which would give you a higher amount of scalp moisturizing omega 3 oils. They usually say 1 Tablespoon of flaxseed is = to 14 softgels, so flaxseed liquid is more economical if you're just trying to get more omega 3 oils without spending a lot of money.
You can also find omega 3 in tuna & salmon, and I believe, canola oil.

To go back on what I said before, I think flaxseed is supposed to have more omega 3, but I think they both might be comparable in relieving dry scalp---But to get the desired effects, you might need to take more than one softgel (1,000mg). You might need to take 5+ softgels. You'll really have to play with the dose to see what works for you.
By the way, I don't know where you bought your last flaxseed oil, but some are different from others. If it's not fresh, it'll taste awful, but if you buy it from somewhere where it's kept refrigerated (like at a health food store), it's not so bad---it should taste nutty, and it lasts "forever" in the refrigerator or freezer.
