Always follow your heart
I would like to try this in my hair tonight. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? Like should I use the aphogee balancer after or can I just use any conditioner?

what i do is put it in my hair while in the shower. Remove excess water and saturated hair with the treatment (DO NOT COMB), i grab the end of my hair and clip it to the crown of my head (meaning, just bend the hair upwards and use a small clip to hold it)... NO SHOWER CAP. I get under the dryer for 15-20 minutes (it'll get messy - a little drips here and there so i tie a couple of papertowels around my neck like a turtleneck). once the treatment has hardened, i get back into the shower, remove the clip gently, and just put my head underneath the showerhead and let the water cascade thru the hair until the treatment has been removed. Do not agitate ur hair in any way. I then apply the balancing moisturizer AND my favorite moisturizing conditioner (which happens to b keracare humecto). I leave same in my hair for approx. 5-30 mins. (depending on how much time i have). then back in the shower i go (yes, im a prune by now

) and let it rinse clean. Some of the ladies have said they don't use the balancing moisturizer and get good results. But personally, it benefits my hair to follow up the treatment with the b.moisturizer

ditto! If you don't use the balancing moisturizer, be sure you use a good moisturizing conditioner. I had good results with Elasta DPR-11 remoisturizer. HTH.

they didn't have the balancing moisturizer so i did a deep cond w/ cholesterol then keracare humecto to make sure i added the moisture after such a deep treatment

I just did an Aphogee treatment last night. I washed my hair with clarifying shampoo, put the Aphogee on from roots to ends and dried it with a blow dryer (it does get messy and kinda sticky if it dries on your skin, I keep a towel handy), I then put the balancing moisturizer on for 5 minutes, rinsed, then deep conditioned with African Pride Blends Mayonaise Conditioner under the dryer for 15 mins., rinsed, moisturized and bunned it!

I used Aphogee for the first time last week. I applied it; making sure I coated all of the hair...then I combed through [that's what the directions said]. I sat under the dryer until it hard. Since they didn't have the Balancing Moisturizer, after rinsing well I applied a mixture of Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner with a little Jason Natural Sea Kelp Moisturizing Conditoner and allowed it to "sit" on my hair for an hour with a shower cap. My hair was extremely soft. I didn't find the treatment "harsh" at all. I know most people think it is. The smell wasn't pleasant but it wasn't as bad I thought it was going to be either.

I think it depends. Some people comb through and others don't. I did because I wanted it evenly distributed. The key is: Do not comb once it's dry; do not pull or tug on hair. Rinse well.

Well I couldn't find any protein conditioners

I went to 2 walgreens, a wal-mart, big lots and a kmart. Kmart doesnt have anything! I was like

don't they have "ethnic" hair care section. That just really suprised me. I ended up buying some hair mayo and some eggs. Hopefully that will work out for now.

Spanishteardrops, normally Aphogee is sold at Beauty Supply Stores like Sally's and places like that.

I've never heard of Wal-Mart selling that-they mostly carry drugstore brands. Aphogee is a salon formula; I guess the person who told got confused or something.

I think I am just going to order it online. Thanks everyone and wish me luck. I am sitting here with mayo and egg in my hair

Hopefully it will work out good.

-FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!
-keep it out of your eyes and off your clothes. and if you want base you hair line because the first time i used it it got on my forehead and it broke me out( i'm not sure if the this was the aphogee but you can never be to careful)
-it stinks like hot garbage. consider yourself warned.

-and i personally use the balancing mouisturizer along with my deep condtioner( designer touch )

When I do an Aphogee treatment, I shampoo my hair then towel dry it. I saturate my hair with Aphogee but not to the point where it drips. I use a handheld dryer for about 20 to 30 minutes. I wash it out and follow it with any conditioner, usually Herbal Essences Intensive Blends Conditioning Balm, since that is my favorite. I have never used any Aphogee conditioner with the treatment and don't feel it is required. Some people would disagree though.

So how long does it take to get hard on your head?

It depends on your hair; everyone is different. Just sit under the dryer long enough until it is HARD and rinse.

I used it on my hair..and its natural. I comb through after I applied it to get even results all over: as long as you don't comb after its hardened or before its rinsed out completely then you should be fine.
