it tooook me 2.5 days with breaks. So Just give yourself 3 days to just relax and do it. And take breaks when your tired else you might do a sloppy job if you stress yourself. Gooood luck to you if I can, then trust me ANYONE can:grin:

I used kanekalon, the African Gold/ Royale( can't remember which)
I bought 5 backs, and there is 1.5 left so therefore I used 3.5 packs :)
Like my math haha anywho yes
Thanks again

They look really nice. Did you study the tutorial on growafrohairlong.com or did you use some other method? Just curious...

I did study the method of that website actually. And all her methods on moisturizing and redoing the braids.
But its kind of hard to do her exact method when your doing it on your own head, so I just kind of made something up lol.
But I will use her method when Braidiing others hair

Congrats, they look great:yep:. I also do my own and they take about 3 days with breaks but they look great. The only problem I have is that some of the braids doesn't stay braided.. I guess I'm buying the wrong type of hair..Maybe I'll try the ones you are using..

If you are using synthetic hair, the really shiny and smooth one, a trick me and friend came up with is to put nail glue right where you finish braiding. So I guess you can't leave any of your hair out. But it loooks really good.

The tip above is definitely true, I've done it hundreds of times. But the bolded part, that's a DEFINITE must for me, to NOT leave any of your own hair out, you don't want to get that glue on your hair and then wind up having to cut it off, or worse yet, panic, knowing glue as strong as superglue is kinda hard to get off. And hair is very delicate. So if using nail glue be careful, when using that. Of course I've also used weave bonding glue(the blackish/grayish one) which does the same trick but is less damaging, should any get on your own hair.

But back to the topic at hand, you did an AWESOME job!!! Love the look, and it looks great on you. Give yourself a pat on the back on your first try and it coming out really good! :)

Girl, congrats! I know how that goes. I used to have to braid my own hair when I was at college.

THANK YOU LADIES :)
I need to take them out and do them again lol. My birthday is coming up in February and I am thinking of doing tree braids in my hair. I am thinking dark brown or black with blond streaks of hair .
What do you ladies think ?

You're welcome and I think that combination will look great on you. I'm sure you can rawk it gurlie!!! Just be sure to post pics of it when ya all done :)
