Ok this may sound silly to some, but since i've joined this site i've become rather nervous about relaxing my own hair and even more so of going to a salon. SO i'm taking the plunge and doing it today by myself.:covereyes

Now to clarify i will be:

Basing my scalp and relaxed hair with actually not sure lol maybe castor oil?

Relaxer will be ORS normal - i'm only texlaing from now own using the shower cap method

Aphogee Protien treatment

Elasta QP DRP 11

Cholestral

Buy me a nice new creamy leave in though might just try ORS Carrot oil then seal with Jojoba, Vit E & almond oil.

Roller set

Then off to the salon for a cut

tell me what you think if any adjustments can be made

thankyou and wish me luck will post results later on today:drunk:

ok after doing a bit more research i'm off to do the following

add motions silk protien b4 relaxer,

follow Londondiva's relax method,

use ors mayo protein hold off aphogee treatment till next week

then neautralize

Good luck!!!! I think people have had great results conditioning before neutralising, and the silk protein should ensure your hair doesn't end up dead straight - your hair will be lovely.

Ok sorry for the delay, here is my after relaxer pics check out my ends going to have to get rid of them lol,

My roller set was just ok, but need more practice, the relaxer burnt a bit so next time using a weaker relaxer, ORS was good but i only texlaxed, going to wait a few more days then i'll do Aphogee Protien treatment. Not much of a difference in lenght patience i know lol

Any advice on how i can improve my technique will be most appreciated :p

Hey Bre thanks, am sure its just the angle though will be getting the ends cut come wednesday i think just to damaged lol

Is it normal to have your hair feel hard after a relaxer? thats how mine is, going to try a deep conditoner any ideas

bump too lol

I don't think your hair should feel hard. Mine always feels soft and manageable. If your hair is feeling hard, I wouldn't do a protein treatment. I'd do a few really good deep conditioning treatments for the next few washes and then if my hair feels soft and moisturized, I'd consider doing a protein treatment for strength. If you just really want to do a protein treatment, try applying a "protein conditioner/reconstructor" like aphogee 2 min reconstructor or Aubrey Organics GPB on your dry hair, cover it with a plastic cap for like 20 mins, then shampoo your hair, rinse, and apply a deep conditioner (cover with a plastic cap and sit under the dryer for like 45 mins). Hopefully, your hair will feel better.

Good luck!

did aphogee protien then did a deep con with aussie 3 min treatment & jojoba oil almond oil, hair was still hard after washed out

so doused my hair in aphogee balance moisturizer then added a little ORS pak, feels better but not super soft, now air drying with Ors carrot oil my own sulphur & oil mix

but putting in kinky twists on thursday so will follow C&G method for wo months hopefully hair will be in better condition due to this, had some serious breaking, long strands as well as short ones :(
