Well ladies last friday night was the first night I have ever wore my hair out au natural and I must say I was never "hit on" that much by men in my life. Don't get me wrong attention from men wouldn't have made me run to the perm jar but it was the fact that my hair was so flattering to my face. I wasn't going to go out with my friends because I just took down my braids and washed and conditoned my hair, blew it out and clipped my ends and put on my scarf waiting until the next day to get my hair re-braided, but my friends begged me to go out so I followed how to make a puff in melanzim's guide(thank's mel :wink2: ) and it came out really cute.

Although my texture wasn't defined as good as I wanted . I think it's because I blew my hair out prior to clip my ends and I had to rewet it, but my edges were nice and smooth and I got a lot of complliments.

I must admit when you where your hair natural for the first time it's liike a comming out and it can be liberating because we are so use to perms, braids, and weaves so sometimes you can doubt yourself weather or not you made the right decision to go natural.

Now I know I made the right decisoin and I will continue to wear my braids until I reach my hair goal which is bra strap. Just thought I'd share :)

Oooo I wish I could see it!!!

I think that you got the attention you received because of the confidence you were exuding!!! It takes power to rock a style that is different from the norm. When people see that in you...they cannot help be attracted.

Natural hair is becoming seen more and more in them media and more of us are growing to love it. So when you see the truth...that you are beautiful with what you have been already given...it is a liberating thing. Only because so many of us have been told the lie that "nappy hair" is "bad hair". It is great to see in yourself that they were wrong and it is icing on the cake when others see it to.

Glad you are enjoying it!

I'm sure your hair was really pretty superstar! I got a lot of attention when I wore my phony pony afro puff for the first time. I agree with the confidence exuding even more pheromones too, it's all about how you carry yourself ;) I can't wait until I chop next month for my 1 yr anniversary :woot:

congrats! i remember the first time i wore my natural hair out and it felt so good :) glad you got to experience that and got lots of positive reactions.

That is wonderful! I wish I could see it. I plan to BC this summer and I'm looking forward to my first outing.

I remember when I first wore my puff to a party. I got a lot of hollas too! All the girls were like "ugh... i don like her hair." but the guys would use it as a way to get to talk to me like "i'm feeling the fro, shorty"

I went to a club this past weekend and this guy was like "I love your style. It's unique." I had the puff and a cute fitted orange rocawear coat with orange hoop earrings, light blue jeans and some white air force ones.

Another guy that I haven't seen since junior high recognized me and his eyes were like  "damn KRYSTLE! IS THAT YOU!!! DAMN I GOTTA GET YO NUMBER! YOU FINE AS HELL!" I accidently gave him the wrong number though.

The puff definitely stands out in a crowd.

How you gonna act, telling us this story with no pics?
Good for you. I know women who decided to give up being natural based on what these men think. Whatever.

It's very liberating!! I'm glad you came out to join us!! Congrats on the puff..I remember my first puff!!! I was sooo excited!

I know, I know, I know I'm wrong for not posting any pics but my scanner is broken and I don't have a digtial cam yet but as soon as I get my computer situation together I would love to share my journey with everyone. :)

Thanks for the postive feedback
