Switched to lye from no-lye today {C.O.N. regular} Lawd ha mercy! I had fire in two spots, the left corner nape and right crown. Touch-up was this morning at 10. My scalp was drenched by her in a runny oil.The burn began around the time she was doing the last parting. I told her it was hot, so she asked if I wanted her to open the door........noooooooo, talking about my scalp!! The shampoo and neutralizer took away the heat. Later around 2PM it started again, so sprayed with BRX braid spray, had some relief. Call came, had to make a run out to Long Island. Everything was "cool".
Arrived home around 7PM, fire ants  dancing the dance again, so grabbed the Amla oil, just more heat...more BRX, small relief..finally the solution was my Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1. I like the feel and look of my NG but next time, I will oil much heavier than I did last night. Just hoping my hair is still on my head by Tuesday's shampoo!!

Sorry this happened to you. I thought No-lye was supposed to be sentitive for the scalp. Are you sure it was no lye? Also, what did you oil your scalp with and when did you do it cause maybe it caused your pores to be open. Thats the only thing I can think of, and what did you stylist base your scalp with? She didn't use oil did she?

No...... I switched from no-lye to lye. The hairdresser (not my regular, she was late, but I was next up, salon was crowded, blah, blah, excuses..shoulda waited.} Yup, you are right Cluelessaka, it was a runny oil thing she used. Last night I used ORS olive oil and Lotion Motion#9. Know better now, it'll be heavy petroleum next time.

If I were you I would re-wash my hair with more neutralizing poo, maybe even let it sit in your head and soak through and repeat. Sounds like it ain't all washed out either:( . Good luck and wash that head again PRONTO!

I'm sorry this happened to you. Try spraying oil sheen in the can on the burn spots. This should really help. Then you might as well get the vitamin e capsules ready to pop, because I'm sure scabs are on their way. :ohwell: Actually, get started on the vit e soon, to avoid the scabbing.

ITA, with basing your scalp the night before with actual grease, petroleum or base.

Thanks all.
Catina was right on the mark, 'PRONTO' was all I needed to hear. Earlier all I wanted to do was wet my hair but kept thinking the stinging would stop 'cause I didn't want to lose the style but what good is style with no substance? I, luckily had some Motions neutralizer from my old "break off my own hair wth self relaxing" days. I shampooed it on, the two suspect spots and more began to sting. I left the neutralizer on for 10 minutes, repeated the shampoo, leaving it for 15 more minutes, less burn, then a third leave it on shampoo and no more stinging. I'm ORS mayo-ing now with a cap, no heat. I'll put some triple antibiotic after air drying. The comfort is now physical as well as emotional...God bless you all.

I, bought some neosporin and vitamin E this morning..NEOSPORIN pain relief and some 28,000 IU of vitamin E is seriously helping to dissolve the crusting felt on my scalp this morning. Wish I had some last night; crusts probably would've never formed as KITCHEN advised. Anyone who gets the relaxer burns, please start the vitamin E immediately.

I would have marched my butt back in that salon for her to re-shampoo and style my hair. I would atleast give the stylist a call and let her know what happened so the next style could be on her.

I went to the salon last evening, the owner was quite annoyed with those who caused the burn...says she will speak with the stylist and shampoo lady today. The owner applied some sort of rose scented oil, advised continuing the vitamin E and neosporin and offered me a free re-do styling for today:ohwell: {?!!?}. I accepted her offer but declined until 7 days at least have past. No shampooing for me until the placement of the neosporin yields no burn and flaking {yuck} begins.
