what's your routine and after style option when you cowash? what's the best route to go to lose less hair?

I only cowash that often when my hair is in a protective style. Right now I'm in pixie braids. If I cowashed daily with loose hair I would lose too much because of the manipulation.

I cowash daily up to about 3 weeks post relaxer and do wet buns 90% of the time (been bunning since October '09). After 3 weeks, my new growth starts to really come in and I haven't found a regular conditioner that gives slip by itself, so I just wet my hair briefly in the shower and go back in a bun. My hair will still have slip from DCing which I do every 3 days once my new growth is coming in good. Otherwise, I DC once a week, cowash daily, and bun to keep from overmanipulating my fine strands and keep my ends moisturized.

I love cowashing daily, especially in the summertime, but I usually lose too much hair. My old solution was to scale back to cowashing every 3 days, but this summer I kept the daily cowashing and switched to wet bunning instead of WNGs. This way, my ends stay protected and I detangle way less, resulting in less manipulation.

Thanks ladies.... the reason I asked this question is because I cowash in 4 sections, and after applying my leave-ins I combine two section and loosely braid. In the morning my hair is still a little damp so I just put in a loose bun, but during the co wash....i detangle with my fingers and still loose some hair...should I not do the finger detangle and only detangle during wash days??

i co wash daily. i still lose a few hairs between 5 and 10 hairs but considering the average person can lose between 50 to 150 hairs per day i will count that as a win. anywho after i am finished cowashing i put my leave ins and seal. after about 75% dry i braid my hair and tie it down with a stain scarf..so far so good my hair seems to like this :yup:

I find cowashing too much makes my hair dry and brittle so I only do it once to twice a week +poo and DC
