I got so tired of asking around about "good" stylists. If they can do one thing, they can't do another.:wallbash:
I read all thru the self-relax stickie and decided to do it myself. DH said he was willing to help. I "briefed him and coached him" thru it.:lachen: (He is such a good sport, because currently he's on crutches). He texlaxed the 2 back sections while I did the 2 in front. It was a total of 18 min from first application to smoothing. My hair still has wave, which I love.
I rollerset and flat-ironed my roots (only for trimming purposes). Meanwhile he ran to walgreens to buy shears.

I am so trim-aphobic! But I needed it! Next time we texlax, he will trim more

When we were all done, I said to DH "You know what, I am stylist free". He said " Yeah, I guess you are"

ETA: All pics were taken last night. Gradually getting rid of those bone-straight ends. I began my journey @ touching shoulder length.

Lucky you! Are your pics taken from over a time-period or all in the same day? The last pic looks great.

Thanks.

All pics were taken last night. Each time he trimmed a little, I made him show me :lachen:. I am trying to get rid of those bone-straight ends.

WOw!! He did a great job on the trim! And smart to have him show you each time - shoot, there are a LOT of stylists that need to be handled like that. :woot: for your DH!

good job. hopefully my bf can help me with my next trim cuz these stylists are way to sissor happy

I like him...do you lease him out for cuts(maybe he can show my dh)? I'm in Florida :lachen: You're hair is beautiful. He did a great job.

Your hubby did a great job trimming.

What happened to the middle section?

Not sure:ohwell:
Probably a combo of things such as prior heat usage, stylists not properly rinsing/neutralizing, not enough moisture.

But all these things have been eliminated, so I just gotta let time be on my side now, to gradually trim them off

Beautiful hair!!!!! DH is wonderful for sharing the self-relaxing process with you! Congrats on finding him AND having a lovely head of hair :yep:!

Lucky for you. I asked my husband to oil my scalp and he pitched a fit. Said he was having flashbacks from childhood. He was traumatized cuzz he uses to have to oil his mom's scalp. Winnie baby!
