Not sure if I was supposed to make my first post somewhere else (most of the boards I've been on are strict on that) but...
I AM SO EXCITED FINALLY BE APART OF THIS COMMUNITY!
You ladies are an inspiration. Every single one of you. You inspire me everyday to keep maintaining my hair and my health.
So a little about myself: I first came across this site in the summer of 2008 but I didn't regularly start reading the boards until about May of 2009. What really prompted me to visit the site more regularly was because my hair became damaged from hair color. My hair has NEVER broken off until I put that color in my hair. Normally I would go to my beautician but I was so antsy for a change that I dyed my hair myself. I can kick myself in the *** for doing that
I knew nothing about protein and moisture balance or anything! So breakage was inevitable.
I've had long hair my whole life but I cut my hair for the first time in July of 2008. Because I knew very little about my hair at the time, I didn't know how to deal with the length of my hair. I just wanted to chop it all off and keep it moving. Before I cut my hair I was about 2 inches from BSL. I cut it into an inverted bob which put the back of my hair to neck length. Growing my hair back was not a problem. I was able to grow it out to about an inch or 2 above APL in 8 months. However b/c of my color issue I BCed in April of 2009 to an even shorter inverted bob.
I'm now rocking the choppy layers (love it) so that's why my hair isn't perfectly in place.
So I got some growth from July to now and I'm pleased! My goal is to be APL by my birthday 04/05/10. This site is the best thing that ever happened to me and my hair!

This is the most current pics of my hair. I had a lot of breakage in the front of my hair so my beautician had to make it work! That's why the front is cut so short.
