Hi, everyone! I've been lurking here for months, but only started posting recently. My name's Rochelle. I used to post on Nappturality as Just Rochelle... which, technically, I guess I still am despite having picked a more whimsical SN here. Anyway....
I'm in my late twenties. (God, I feel old.) And I went natural a few months ago due to a lot of things: sick of perming, sick of hair breakage, a desire to just be myself. The actual story is a long one, though, and I'd rather not bore you. In any case, I'm loving the daylights out of my natural hair and wouldn't trade it for the world. Hair type: probably a range from 3b to 4a plus a wavy patch thrown in. In any case, it looks kind of like a non-drippy jheri curl. *g*
I'm here because I have no idea how long my hair can get when it's properly cared for. It's always been very dryness-prone, which made it break off easily. I can't recall a single hair I've lost to natural shedding (i.e. had a white bulb attached) instead of untimely breakage. This should be a neat experiement, seeing what my real maximum length is, and I've already learned quite a bit just from lurking here. I've never said it to you before, but thanks, everyone. You've helped me a lot.
General miscellaneous. My favorite foods are sushi, pizza, and (dare I say it?) fried chicken. I'm a bit of a sci-fi/fantasy junkie. I'm owned by a cat named Princess Kuja who I named after a character from a favorite video game. (Originally, her name was just Kuja. She earned the Princess part.) I'm a Christian, but not a conventional one. My personal studies, prayers and experiences have taken me in some unique, but fulfilling directions. I recently finished writing a young adult fantasy novel, and I'm trying to get it published now. Writing is my life.
I guess that covers it. You may now return to your regularly scheduled hair talk.
