Do you ladies wrap your hair wet, dry or both? TIA

I only wrap my hair when it's dry. I would never try to wrap my hair while it's wet because it would take forever to dry.

I do both. When I wrap my hair wet it takes a long time to dry so I do it when I'm staying around the house. I wrap a couple times a week when dry. Don't forget to alternate which dircetion you wrap so don't get thinning!

...I tried wrapping it wet once and had a lotta breakage. Plus, it's hard to unwrap your hair after u have let it dry in a wet wrap. Wrapping when wet is a no-no for me.

dry, I tend to think hair or at least my hair is too fragile when wet to wrap plus it's even harder to wrap when wet because it's heavier and sticks together.

I have never been able to master wet wrapping. The couple of times I tried I ended up with a mess. I only wrap after rollersetting because I like some body and curl.

PB and HH- maybe you guys are using a lot of setting lotion. I never have a problem combing my hair down from a wrap after drying and it's never sticky or hard.

I use a setting lotion plus leave-in.

I don't like wrapping wet b/c the last time I did there was extreme breakage...check out my album. I need to work on changing directions also.

Ummm No... when I wrapped wet, I didn't even have setting lotion in my hair...I dont think I had anything in my hair when I did it, maybe just my leave-in only...

I prefer dry wrapping after roller setting. It takes forever and I can never get both sides to look good. I also don't like the "swirly" look at the crown that's left after wet wrapping.

I wrap my hair while it's dry. I use to do it while my hair was wet when I was first trying to learn how to do it, but my hair never turned out right. It would be extra thick, never have the bump to the ends that I wanted and I didn't have any type of bounce to my hair. Another bad thing is that I would end up having to use the flat iron to curl my hair to make it look like a wrap style (all that heat isn't good). Personally, I think that the dry wrap looks so much better.

blaqbarb- just curious: How can you tell whether someone has dry wrapped or wet wrapped their hair just by looking at it?

I've done both and I get better results with the wet wrap when I do it before my new growth comes in thick and better results with a dry wrap once my new growth starts coming in thick.

I wrap my hair dry. Like some of the other ladies have said it would just take to long to dry if I wrapped my hair wet.
