I just bought this flat iron, the light still flickers when set to 450 even when on for a while. Is there something wrong with my iron?

From the FHI Heat owner's manual:

For Platform and Runway irons, a steady red light means that the iron has not reached the designated temperature set on the iron. A blinking red light means the iron has reached the designated temperature and is ready for use. No red light (with the switch in the on position) means the iron is in the process of decreasing the temperature to a lower heat setting.

I just want to mention that on a FHI Technique the light stays steady while heating and while in use; no blinking should happen.

Soulie! Thank you! I was wondering about this. I thought something was wrong too!

:yep:

Has anyone experienced the white lettering on either side of the flat iron smearing?? This just happened to mine and now I'm thinking it might be a fake.

I love this flat iron. My does the same thing as far as blinking. I didn't have any problems with the smearing or anything else.

The circular plates are supposed to be removable. If you need to adjust the tightness of the clamp, you remove the plates and adjust the screw.

Bumping................I guess I'm the only person who experienced smearing of the white lettering on the back of each plate.
