Did you all read the Weatherproof Your Hair article? Its the one with Wil and Jada on the cover. If you did read it, what did you think?

I read it yesterday...I actually have it with me at work today. I didn't finish it but I read the recommendations for relaxed hair. Honestly as I was reading it I thought...wow, maybe the person who wrote this has visited LHCF. Some of the recommendations are very similar to what we do here.

1) Using proteins, but also warning that the incorrect use of protein treatments can cause dry, brittle hair.
2) Following protein with moisture.
3) Using a moisturizing shampoo.
4) Extending relaxers...though they never tell the reader how to do it
(They should have written "Please see the experts at LHCF for further details")
5)Conditioning the hair as you dry it
6)Using a humidifier...someone else on the forum recommended this to me last week. They say to put it on in your bedroom at night while you sleep (it would probably do my skin some good too). I wonder would this become a problem with me try to stretch my relaxer??
7)Keep your hair away from wool and cotton.
8)Pin curling to stay away from curling irons.
9)Braiding the hair to give it a break.
It's not bad advice considering some of the bad advice I've seen other magazines give for hair advice. The sad thing is that I used to listen to some of it, now I don't get hair advice from anyone but LHCF!!

I thought it was very similar to the advice given here. And you are so right about other mags. I dont listen to anyone but the ladies of LHCF now and my hair is way better for it. It is still short but I see more length than I normally would. It would have broken off by now.

I thought the advice was very similar to what I have read here....I just thought "Hmmmm maybe a member is part of the Essence family.....just give LHCF its props!!!"
