i would like to know has anyone had any problems with using this gel like hair being tangled after washing it out and hair shedding alot after washing it out because i had a bad experience with it. i don't know wether it was because i kept the gel in my hair for like 10 days or what it was. i'm thinking about trying it again, and i'm scared it might make my hair become the same way that it did before. thanks in advance!!!!!!

Question Numero Uno: Does it have alcohol in it?

Alcohol is great for hold (no fly-aways), but it makes hair hard and can lead to tangles.

I haven't tried it, but I did pick it up (I think) and I think it had alcohol in it...so I Put it back down. You might want to try the Sparkalites Gel (regular or high potency - this is the blue one).

As a rule, I try to avoid gels that say "hold" (extra hold, super hold, medium hold). Hold = tangled hair = bad bad bad!!

i have some and it is like the adv brown gel hold and no shine.. its the worst stuff i ever bought lol.. and yes that prolly is why it was falling it did nothing but dry my hair out

thanks for your reply!
i don't know if it has alcohol in it or not. i hope not.
i tried the Sparkalites Gel regular clear kind and it didn't hold my hair down as good as the thick 'n shine.

anyone else used it??
please respond as soon as possible because i'm thinking about ordering some more tonight and some for my cousin.

I no i on't see alchol i can send you mine but i dropped it and its like half gone i know proteins drying and it has soo many

Oh wow, I use it and LOVE it. One of the few "staples" I have. I go through jars and jars of this stuff for my slicked back low puffs. No problems at all. I do use moisturizers and leave in's under it.

so1913 thanks for your reply!
do u know if the gel alcohol free? i'm just cusious to know whether it is or not.

so1913 i just want to ask where u buy yours from?
because i'm going to buy mines from amazon.com.
i'm just going to give it another try but put alot of bb oil moisturizer on my hair before i use it again and if my hair reacts the same way oh well i would just end up giving the gel away to one of my cousins. i'm really hoping that it works out for me because i love the way the gel gives good hold and nice shine without it flaking like other gels do.

I purchase mine locally from BSS and other stores.

I use this!! With no problems! I do use leave in's and I never left it in as long as 10 days! I really like this gel. I don't think it's anywhere near as drying as the regular ampro brown gel.

NO WHERE near. I don't find it drying at all. My hair reacts well to it.

so1913 i have couple more questions to ask u about how u use the gel.
how long do u keep the gel in your hair and when do u wash it out?
do u wash it out with shampoo or co wash it out? thanks!!!!

I have this gel and it work great for me.
This gel does not flake like the reg brown gels I have tried in the past.
I usally wash it out with a clarifying poo the follow with my reg moisturising poo with no problems.

I use it on damp/wet hair to smooth my hair back. I use it on the top layer of my hair. I conditioner wash almost daily, but when I wear my hair with the gel I can get two days wear out of my slicked back style (using a little water to reactivate a smooth if needed) before I'm ready to CW/rinse/shampoo my hair again. I don't need shampoo or do anything special or extra to wash out the gel, just carry on with my regular routine.

Maybe you could apply the Sparklelites first and then put somethick n shine after or do you think that would be too much.

Thank you so much. :D I'm scared of so much protein, but I'll buy some tonight and try it with my phony ponytail I bought yesterday.

I'm going to try Sparkelites. Does it work well on dry or damp hair, as well as wet hair?

I've been looking for a nice gel for my edges to help with my transition. Thanks for the reviews ladies.

I started using last month and I have not experienced any bad reactions, but I have not worn it in my hair for longer than 3-4 days without washing.
