Hi Ladies!!!

Quick question...Has anyone ever experienced eye pain and redness after using a sulfur based hair product?! My eyes (moreso one than the other) have been red and burning all day long! I wear contacts and haven't had them in the majority of the day b/c of the burning.

Using the hair product is the only thing that I did completely different. I used makeup I haven't in a while, but I didn't have problems with the make-up before. I am hoping I am wrong, but will being going to the doctor. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this.

I hate to think I spent all of that money on the product for nothing...sigh. I'd also hate to think I have subjected my eyes to this over a hair product...:nono:

So...anyone?!

Are you washing your hands thoroughly before putting in and taking out your contacts?
Are you scratching your scalp or rubbing your hair and the wiping your eyes?

What kind of makeup are you using that you haven't used in awhile? Eyeshadow, eyeliner?

I make sure my hands are clean when handling my contacts. I used a mascara I hadn't used in a while. I cleaned that off when I removed my contacts...

How long has it been since you used your mascara? If it's been longer than a couple of months or if you've had it for more than a couple of months that might have been it.

It has been a while. Maybe that's it...It was the first thing I tossed, but I was just wondering...

I think it is the hair product. I just washed my hair. It maybe in my mind, but I feel somewhat better. I am going to wait til about mid-day and see how everything is going. If it isn't the sulfur, it may be the fragrance. I don't know. the only other ingredients are olive oil and coconut oil.

Yes I do. I have to baggy and it can't stay ln for long, my eyes can't take it.

I do too. I have to use products with sulfur at night only and I have to make sure to tie my hair up. I get a slight irritation in my left eye only. No matter how careful I am I seem to touch my hair at some point and then touch my eye!

In my case, the problem was my pillowcase. Even with a scarf it was still getting on my pillowcase. I have to change it after each time I use my sulfer product.

I did notice that was adding to it...especially after washing my hair and not changing sheets.

Thanks for the replies ladies!
