Castor oil it gives great slip when I add it to my conditioners and leaves my hair soft when I use it seal in my moisturizer. EVOO leaves my hair dry and crunchy whenever I use it.
I love them both equally b/c the olive oil(that I have infused with cedarwood eo) works great on my freshly washed wet hair for sealing purposes.. it also works great on my dry hair(a couple of drops and its a go)
My Jamaican black castor oil is also great on wet hair.. it leaves my edges laying nicely after I remove my scarf from the nite before.. it also helps control the frizziness of my strands during my airdrying and scarf tying process at bedtime.
I say mix them together honestly. For those of you who feel your hair is crunchy with evoo, I felt the same way until I oil rinsed with it, plus some castor oil. Blend it in your deep cons and mostly use cator oil to seal and smooth edges. Its some pretty amazing stuff.
I use castor oil to seal my wet hair for airdyring. I recently used EVOO in my conditioner and WOW my hair loved it. My hair was soft and moisturized and I did not get that from the Castor Oil. Therefore, I use both for different purposes and you really have to test each product to see which one your hair loves the most.
I love castor oil, but it does weigh my hair down, so, I only use it when I am wearing my hair up. It leaves my hair so soft and tangle-free. I used to use EVOO when I wore my hair down, but I don't anymore; I prefer coconut oil.
I like castor oil much more than olive oil. I used to use olive oil on a regular basis, but since I discovered Vatika oil I haven't even thought about olive oil. I use either vatika or castor oil depending on my mood and because I'm greedy, I'm thinking about trying camellia oil.
I love both of them separately and mixed together. I find myself using EVOO more than Castor Oil b/c I have more of it. If I had to only use one, it would be Castor Oil.
This is so hard!!!!! Its really trial and error on what works for you. I feel like EVOO is heavy to so I hear so much about the castor oil. But experimenting is expensive!!
I can only use EVOO mixed in conditioners. When I use it to seal the results are not good. Dry, frizzy, crackly. Castor oil, on the other hand, . It adds great slip when I use it as a prepoo, with deep conditioners, or as oil rinse. When I use it on dry hair, it softens, smooths, and helps retain moisture. I love it!!!
