Hi Ladies,
I had my first "Aha" moment about my hair obession. Yesterday, a friend came into town unplanned and was visiting me. Now although he's just a friend and he's seen me wrap my hair before, I was trying to be cute and not wrap it to go to bed.
I was laying there just miserable

, thinking about how the cotton pillow case is going to dry out my hair, why didnt I buy satin pillow cases

and how the hair is going to be rubbing against my sheets, and how my ends are probably going to snap when I roll over. Just going crazy.

Fortunately, he left about an hour later and I jumped out of bed to go wrap my hair. All the time thinking "I hope I didnt do too much damage"

Has the ever happened to you? Be honest now, we're all family.

Oh yes, I had an appointment to go to early one morning and I called myself waking up early so that I could curl my hair with the steam rollers. Well, I woke up a little later than I wanted but decided to go ahead and do my hair so I could be cute. Anyways, half way through I realized that I was behind schedule and instead of just pulling my hair up in a ponytail, I took out the hot curlers and finished my hair with them. I drove to the doctors office feeling horrible because I felt that my hair was going to dry up and fall out. As soon as I got home I immediately put some moisturizer on the ends, to save my hair from any damage the heat did. Now, I would only tell you all this because no one else would understand.

Oh yes - I forgot to drink my mandatory one bottle of water a day and I realized it in my dream so I woke up at midnight (a couple of nights ago) and had to guzzle it and then wait til I had to pee before going back to sleep.

I don't break my hair routine... EVER. I don't care what day it is or who is there.

Once it was wash day and my bf wanted me to spend the night at his house. I bought my shampoo, deep conditioner mixed with honey and oils, my oil mix, moisturizer, rollers, clips, plastic caps, scarves, vitamins AND my heating cap.

And I did his hair too!

And we both air dried in rollers

Maybe I'm the crazy one!

, Gaea im sorry but that was hilarious. I feel you though.

My aunt and cousin came to my house one day when I was airdrying in bantu knots and basically told me my hair looked crazy. So when they left I broke down and blowdried my hair and bumped the ends. That night I felt bad because I broke my no heat challenge and I know how bad heat has been for my hair. Glad to know i'm not the only one this happens to. But one thing I did learn is to forget about other people and do you and that's what i'm doing from now on.

Yes, MsKibibi, I confess to feeling like that when I break one of my 'hair rules.' I don't tell anybody close to me cause I know they wouldn't understand, but I sure do feel wrong to the nth degree when I do it.

Yes, last week I was really, really sick rolling around in bed. I was so sick I didn't care about anything else but getting better. I didn't have my satin pillow case cover with me so I layed on a cotton pillow case and blanket all day. I felt bad about it but luckily I only SAW one shedded hair on the pillow case. The good part is that I must be taking good care of my hair since there were no split ends. Whew.

Also, I forgot to bring my conditioner to the shower with me last I washed my hair so I just went straight to the deep conditioner.

i used to when i'd wear my hair down for weeks at a time, but slipping off the wagon every now and then isn't gonna undo ALL my hard work. so i try not to beat myself up too bad.

Only a few months ago when I had to travel. I brought everything I needed with me (and more) but broke my routine by going five days without washing my hair. I always wash every 3 days. My concern was how my braidout looked on the 4th and 5th day, especially since there was a lot of humidity in the three states I hit. I had my scrunchies just in case but my hair looked great even on the 5th day! I learned that breaking my hair routine once in a while can be a good thing.

Nope, I don't feel guilty at all. Sometimes everyday life gets too busy, and I have to end up breaking my hair routine (here and there).

Yes I have broken my hair routine...
One time I was so tired, I just went to sleep with my hair all out, unprotected and when to sleep on my cotton pillowcase pillow. When I woke up, my hair was dry and messy. I didnt even moisturize my hair and just combed it down with my comb.

I must confess that I ALMOST broke my routine. I had just taken my braids down and had a ton of new growth. I did a rollerset but the new growth was too much to be tamed by a mere roller set. I got frustrated and plugged up my flat iron, telling myself that one time won't hurt. I even set it on the lowest setting. When I sat down to flat iron my hair I felt so guilty (I haven't used a flat iron or blow dryer since Dec 03) that I just turned it off and put my hair into a ponytail. I went back to cornrows a week later.

yes i break my routine every now and then...
whe ni sleep over my SO house i dont wear my silk scarf to bed as much as i should or hardly ever...due to the ativites we are engaging in...but its kewl....

somethings are worth breaking my routine for.....lol

lmao....ladybug you're funny! Yea that happens to me sometimes too. Early on this year I stopped wrapping my hair, and just slept with it out on my cotton pillowcase because I didnt want my (new) boyfriend to see me with my hair wrapped. LOL, now he's used to it cuz he knows I'm trying to grow it, and I don't play around with my hair!!!

everytime I have to use the curling iron which isnt that often but I feel so bad ... like it's frying my hair and yes I use the highest setting

If I wear my hair down for about 5 days straight, I feel so guilty and paranoid about my hair. My last rollerset I wore for 9 days straight- I felt so bad, but wanted to get my $30 out of it from the salon rollersetting it.

I haven't washed my hair in over a week, so I feel a tad guilty, but with it being so rainy and ultra humid here, I really don't want to use waste my time doing my hair when its going to look like crap before I even step outside because of the humidity and rain.
