Love yourself first!
Hello,
This is my first post as to my problem. I have past the shoulder length hair. I have always had problems with split ends! Since my previewing of the boards, my splits are at a minimum but i have some strands that have bends towards the ends and sometimes in the middle of strand. It looks like I could take the strand and make a hexagon out of it. What causes this and what can I do to correct it?

My regimen is
Washing hair with Creme of Nature or NTM twice a week. I CW once a week with Garnier or GPB. I also clarify every two weeks. I moisturize with BB castor oil and WGO. I also oil my scalp with Blue Magic grease and biotin creme. I also surge evey other week. Just added coconut oil a week ago. I sometimes sit at my desk snipping these little pieces off, but how can i rech my goal if I am constantly snipping?! /images/graemlins/wallbash.gif Please HELP!! THANKS!

I have these too. I usually leave them alone. I think some of mine come from the way I wrap my hair at night. I'm sure someone else will chime in and help us.

the bends sound like weak spots in the hair
maybe you should start surging the ends of your hair more often than weekly, stop snipping if the ends arent split, are you wearing your hair down mostly, how often do you use heat?do you "pull your perm thru" or do you just touch up the roots

I wear my hair down quite a bit. I did go for about two weeks this month wearing it up. I only perm my roots, which I go to a salon for. Ok, I will stop clipping, but sometimes when I touch it, they break on their own.

I have the same problem in the front sides of my hair. I snip too, I actually decided earlier today to start surging that area from root to tip. I hope it works. It has to be from damage. I think that area on me is prone to heat inflicted damage from blow-outs/flat ironing.

I was wondering if it was the way I put my hair up at night. I use a satin cap, but sometimes the hair is just shoved in it. Maybe i need to do something different. I will try surging this area and see what happens.

Yeah, you may be on to something. /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif I must literally tie my hair up or else it will have cricks/bends and I'll experience breakage, even if it's in a satin cap. This may be a start. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh yeah, your hair looks great!!! You have a nice length and it's very pretty.
