Ladies,
I just got end papers because I want to practice doing my rollersetting but I'm highly ignorant about the procedure. Can anyone help out a sister?

I love using end papers when I rollerset and I feel that they have helped my ends tremendously

. Here is what I do:

1)section hair for one roller and comb taut with a rattail comb.

2)hold this section of hair with one hand — with the other hand, fold the end paper in two (this may take a bit of practice)

3) place your ends between the folded end paper (still holding section of hair taut). I make sure that I leave some space at the top of the end paper so that my end are not sticking out.

4) roll your hair tautly with roller. (I like to hold onto my ends/end paper until the roller has made a few revolutions, then I continue to roll my hair until I tightly fasten the clips to the roller.

Note:
*rolled hair should be wet whilst rolling.
*ends should always lay flat against roller (*very important*).

Thanks ChiChi for the instructions. I just bought some too at Sally's (on sale for 69 cents) and I've never used them before with my roller sets. I hope I haven't been harming my ends by not using them!

How's your weekend been? I left Mass and headed straight for the bss for the end papers. I also stopped by the African store for Gari, Knorr cubes and Peak Milk

Thanks for the instructions, I can confidently head to the bathroom for to wash my hair.
Have a lovely week

If you're using magnetic (plastic) rollers, you don't need to use end papers. They're really for use with the wire (mesh) rollers.

Thank goodness! I do use the magnetic rollers but I also use my Caruso rollers for quick sets on my bangs. Maybe I should be using end papers with those.

You are welcome. While I don't think that it is an absolute *must* while rollersetting, end papers (I feel) have reduced my split ends. When I went to a stylist, I wouldn't need as many trims. I think of it as protective rollersetting

Hi Chichi,
I finished doing my hair yesterday but it was late. I used sauve humectant shampoo and my hair felt completely stripped. I don't think, I will be repurchasing this shampoo ever! Luckily, I have much conditioner, so I lumped it on to my poor hair before even doing my protein conditioning.
Anyway, it turned out well but boy, it is so hard to roll sideways.
The end papers were really helpful for my ends and also in preventing breakage that usually occurs when I take off the snap/cover of my magnetic rollers (I placed an endpaper between my rolled hair and the cover of the roller).
I like the look, volume and feel but my hair is 12 weeks post relaxer and I feel it might have been too much manipulation for the hair.
I'm going to resort to rolling just the ends (my ponytail) so as not to manipulate the 2 textures especially since I plan on stretching out my relaxer till it becomes at least 25 weeks.
