Thank you ArmyQT because your post convinced me to try something new. I wish the hairstylists (Joseph and Marvin Carrington) I called were as open to trying something new. They "don't allow" any other relaxers besides the ones they use (even if the ones they use are too harsh and causes long-term damage) But I'm not hatin'. I just wish they were more open to trying a new product when it's clearly great.
I have 4a fine hair. I went with the Medium for normal hair. I went to the Dominican salon in the East Village (recommended by brownrelaxedhair-- thanks) and had it done by Nelly. She was really sweet and very thorough.
My hair was transformed. To look at me you'd never know my hair was ravaged in June. (I have Got to learn how to post pictures here). My hair is now at 8.5 inches so it doesn't look like I've suffered too much.
Growing it out, chopping the damage as it grew was well worth it - a highly recommended cure for overprocessed hair. To follow it up with a relaxer as gentle as Elucence is also a good move. It's like conditioner going on. I'd scratched like crazy the night before because I couldn't help myself and I thought I was going to pay. But I didn't. By the time I felt the tingles, it was at like the 20th minute and by then we were heading for the rinse. (By the way their color-coded neutralizing shampoo smelled like freshly squeezed grapefruit juice)
Sorry to go on and on but you don't understand what a find this is. And if you only knew what a harsh critic I am of products you'd know this is high high praises...
