I saw this ad in my Essence Magazine: www.ellinlavar.com .

You can get four of her products for $9.99 to try for 30 days. If you don't like you can return them, but if you do decide to keep, they'll charge 2 payments of 29.99

Nope, but Essence did a spotlight on her Reconstructing Masque once. All I know is that she's done some celebrities hair.

Ellin Lavar is a very very famous hair dresser in Manhattan. Celebrities definitely go to her. Her salon has a great reputation. I have two friends that go to her salon. I haven't been because I heard that a touch-up (Mizani) with conditioner is like $110. Ummmm I don't think so ... I get the best Mizani touch-up with conditioner a block away from my house (Brooklyn) from a Dominican salon for ummm let's see .... ahhhh $50. :yay: :yay: :clapping: :clapping:

I would go to her, however, if I ever got the courage to highlight my hair. I don't think that everyone can master coloring. That's just me.

As for the poducts, I'm tempted, but I've been really out of control with my acute PJism.

Yeah the salon is really nice. I went there about 2 weeks ago for a relaxer. I used Affrim. I read all of the wonderful comments on this forum about Marcia (one of the ladies that work there). It is expensive but Marcia really is da bomb!

Yes, Ulta does have some of her sample sized products for $1.00. I bought a sample of the Reconstructing Masque last Saturday but I'm going to wait and use it after my next relaxer as a protein treatment.
