I'd like to know the temperature range on those combs with adjustable settings. What's low, medium, and hot? I have a comb, but it has one temperature - 105 C. Where does this fall in the range?
105 C = 221 F. That's pretty hot. My Jilbere straightening irons goes up to 220 F and that's smoking hot. I can straighten my natural hair using less than half that much heat. I've seen electric hot combs that get as hot as 140 degrees-300 degrees C!
the jilbere flat iron does not straighten my new growth at all.... maybe for about 5 minutes then it is kinked up again. but it works great on my relaxed hair. electric hot combs don't work on my hair when it's natural either, i have to use the kind that you put on the stove
My hair won't stay straight for long if I use a leave-in conditioner or anything that seals in a lot of moisture. I apply my pressing creme to my hair when it's wet and let it dry before I straighten it.
I bought a couple of hot combs, but my hair won't go through the teeth!
And there I was figuring it must be really low, since it took quite a while before the tissue paper I tested it on even started to turn brown. I will try to one that can get lower, though.
