I have seen so many threads about this and i thought it worked for me, unfortunately my hair hates this stuff!

I've been continuously doing my mega tek regimen and had no problems but last week i decided i would add mango butter into the mix after co-washing.

Yeah i love the smell of it but i just posted about how i detangle with conditioner in the shower and ladies i have just come out nearly bawling.

In the shower i had so many broken bits on the end, i'm used to shedding with MT but this is something else. So i'm still sat under my dryer with Pantene R&N mask and a bit of ORS trying to correct this setback while sharing with you ladies! I know my ends where ok as i dusted them at Xmas.

P.S Elasta mango butter works for lots i'm sure, just not for me:nono:

If you want mine you can have it :yep:

I just tried mine again this week too; and my hair got soooooooooooooo hard that I ended up re-co-washing about 8 hours later. Wish it worked for me....

I don't know what possessed me to put it on my head again, maybe as i had so many things in my drawer i thought lets give it a go!

Stick to what i know is what i'm thinking from now on!

Wow, I love that stuff. I dont know how I spent years just reading about it here. I finally tried it a few months back and my hair behaves so differently now...more tame, more moisturized and no frizz... and those results were immediate...

Are you ladies using it all over or just on the edges??? I had never tried it, but I'm looking for something to hold down my ng.

Hope it didn't mess up that lovely head of hair you have!

Have to get the pj in me to calm down!

I'm scared of breakage now hope i've not undone any progress.....

I really wanted to like it because so many of the ladies on here raved about it. I had put it on my edges and a little on my ends and sealed it olive oil.I woke in the morning, took my scarf off and I couldn't even comb my hair.It was all hard and tangled.I threw that mess in the garbage. That's when I realized everything doesn't work for everybody.:yep:

I use it mostly on the last 4 inches of my hair...my hairline and nape as well.

I'm glad it works for you, as i'm using megatek on my scalp i thought it would be ok to massage a small amount on the length of my hair to help strengthen it but hair no likey!

What are the ingredients in this stuff? Curious...just curious...THANKS!

Yeah, it's not for everybody. I didn't like that it made my hair shrink even more:nono:, but I know that it's due to the water content of it. It actually did a pretty good job of moisturizing my ends, but I couldn't stand those white flakes that it left on my ends.

white flakes? you sure yours was still good and not expired

I love it, it smooth my edges down lovely and leaves my hair feeling soft and not weighed down.

i hated this crap!...i really wanted it to work out for my hair cuz it was so easy to find in the bss...and i wanted it to help my ends.

it didn't moisturize anything!

This product has really worked for me. I use it to smooth the NG along my edges. I also use it every night on my ends right before I cross wrap. Its entirely too thick to use along my entire length. I also follow it with a sealing oil. My hair is 1000% softer and shinier since I started using this. I started buying it before I realized cones were bad. But it works, so regardless of the cones I'm keeping this one.

My life without Elasta QP Mango Butter, I can't imagine it. I am so glad it works for me. I oil the scalp, spritz, hairveda whipped cream or vatika frosting then its mango butter all over! I never complete my bun without it. I have never experienced the problems others have described. It's a keeper for me.

You really can't use a lot of this stuff (I use literally a quart sized amount, no more than this) If I use more then yeah, my hair can get hard too.

I don't use it all that often anymore, just when I'm 10+ weeks post relaxer.

It worked for me a while, but when I started using MT, it made my hair really hard. I had to wash it out immediately! I couldn't even get the comb through it.

I tried it about a few months ago:nono:. Just sat on top of my hair and was white and hard. I parted my hair in 4 sections and use a dime for each section. Never again, i had to clarify to get that mess out.

I used it again today because I'm using up my graveyard and giving cones another try. I used it while air drying and my hair dried soft, but it wasn't amazing.

im relaxed. when i used this i didnt give it a chance to make my hair hard because i was scared of breakage. when i used it it didnt make my hair feel super soft in fact it felt weird. like if i kept using it it would make my hair brittle very weird so i discontinued use. back then my ends were damaged and bleach so i dont know if that had something to do with it either.

I didn't have good results either despite the fact that it smelled good. Pour some olive oil in it, and see what happens. Plus, it molds too. Mine has been in the freezer for three years. I'm going to take it out.

Regarding the Elasta QP Mango Butter, it was nice and silky when I first used it. I was really impressed, and the smell is "heavenly!" The following morning I was so shocked that my ends were so dry--bone dry. I said to myself: "What happened to my ends?!" I decided to pour some olive oil in it--which made it better--but I won't be replacing it. Also, it will "mold" if it sits for a while . . . so it's best to put it in the freezer if you don't use it often--like me.
